Opening Night In Va?

So did any of you hit the woods last night after 12 midnight? If so how did it go?

I'll be cutting them loose tonight.

We were out around Midnite.....It was aweful bright out. Struck one old track but nothing to write home about, the only living thing we saw all bnight was a rabitt..No deer, housecats or
possums along the road at all! I hope it picks up over the next couple of nights.

Does this mean that you have your list of excuses lined up for what your dogs do....or don't do as the case may be? ROFL ROFL ROFL

I've found over the years about the only time my dogs are flawless is when I stay on the sofa and they stay in the dog box!

Have fun and be careful tonight. You can quit hunting when you get the bed of your new truck full of hides.

Hobo, I am with Hoosier. My dogs are flawless when we are on the couch. lol
Our season opened Monday. The leaves are still on everything here and you can not see a thing. Of course the dogs went to the worst possible nasty briar invested thick place they could find. I could not see the middle of the trees, much less the top. Smelled a bear on the way to the dogs and I was a little leary about what they actually had in that tree. Oh well, so much for the first night. Last night again in a vine encrusted briar infested group of trees in a swamp. We could not even see the tree past the stuff around the bottom. Then a nice big boar on the edge of the intercoastal waterway. Finally a tree you could actually see, and there was even a coon in it. Until I watched it jump out while my buddy was getting the gun. Poor dogs may not get any fur until the leaves fall off.
I hope your have a great time up your way Hobo. I sure have missed seeing you the past 2 years.

We didn't hang around till midnight. Tree'd one pretty quick and counted our blessings with that moon as bright as it was. Can't go tonight but planning a late night tommorow. Good luck VA hunters. Hope everybody has a safe season.
