it is cattle wormer that can be used for dogs. it kills every kind of worms there is.

Posted by Virgil on 09-30-2008 10:52 PM:

I just bought two tubes of it. I have never used it but my uncle has been using it and it is much cheaper than dog wormers with the same ingredients.

I use the horse wormer safe gard and it does a nice job too. Don't know how it compares to this wormer.

Anybody ever used both, and can you give a comparison.

Yes you can IF.....you can figure out the proper dose. Zimecterin is dosed in 250 pound increments for a horse. I don't know what the proper dose would be for a dog.

its

Its a horse wormer and I like the equimax better as it is a lil' stouter on the tapes. give them 1 click, its more then enough but will not hurt a thing.

I really appreciate this post Whistle Pig! It led me to a product called Canex Multi that is the Canadian version of DrontalPlus. You can buy it without a prescription on the internet for around $16.00 to worm up to and 88 pound dog. It is a dog specific wormer. Sounds like a great product, gets all tapes, hooks, rounds and whips.

Praziquantel is Droncet and it is the only wormer that will kill Tape worms, the Ivomec will kill all other common intestinal worms in your hound plus the micros for heart worms. Different brands have different concentrations of droncet in them but 15 % is the strongest sold and I think 2.87% is the strongest in the Ivomec concentrations. I only give this combo paste if I suspect tapes otherwise I give 0.3 ml of Ivomec Injectable for cattle 1% sterile solution in the 50 ml bottle under the skin at the top of the neck every month. I live in parasite heaven and the only worm I get occasionally is tapes then I pull out the horse paste.(Zemecterin Gold)

Jim, I checked on the Canex Multi, and think I'm gonna go that route. Thank's

one click is 50 pounds worth of dog. You can round up say a dog ways 35 pounds its one click then, if a dog is 65 pounds its two clicks and so on. An extra click usually will not overdose your dogs. Also do not use on collie type dogs.

why not? what? If you are asking about the collie type dog, this is because they have an allergic reaction to the ivermectin in the paste, this reaction can be fatal. Also if your dog does have heartworms already take them to the vet instead of doing the worming your self, if not this is a great preventative.

I gave a 65 # dog a shot for 6 hundred #, I thought I had the wheel locked on the stem and It sliped. did'nt sleep at all that night, was worried to death, I put off going to feed him until late the next evening. when I got close to where he was I peeped and told my friend that he was dead. got to where I could see him better and he was breathing real hard and would'nt move. got up on his feet on the third day and and drank water, for about a week before he ever ate anything. he's as fat as pig and slick as a babys butt now.

So no one will not have to worry about killing their dog, If mine pulled through after giving him enough for 6 hundred #.
