Questions about Show Beagles

I don't know anything about Beagle pedigrees but am looking into getting a beagle to start showing in UKC & AKC events. What bloodline do I look for or show I say what is the best line for show dogs and does anyone know where I can find a breeder close to Springfield, Mo. I would appreicate any information..

To be honest I am having no luck. Everyone that I ask either wants $500 to a $1000 for a female pup. Surely I can find pup cheaper than that.. Not looking for a national level female just one to show local to state.. Any ideas now???

Sundown has some great hounds that is for sure everything in my kennel is out of there breeding program. You may want to talk to Bill and Deidra Ashcraft in Martinburg WVa. They have some awsome show beagles and hunting beagles. They have a super nice hound standing at stud now CH Landbur Jenco Chip he is throwing some super nice looking hounds that should do great in the show ring and in the field, he also has some nice show bitches he is breeding.

I have a some male pups out of Sky King and a female of mine. They are great looking now but are only 1 1/2 weeks old, and I could be parial.

Also there is Gary and Bevy Moore in Ava, MO. They have had a lot of Champions out of thier kennels.

I didn't know you were looking for a Beagle too !! I am also looking for a nice female. Ya know Aimee Jo is just crazy about showing , but the coonhounds are just too much for her to handle. So, this was going to be our solution to getting Aimee into showing "her own hound". I don't know if you caught on to every dog she liked she called it "HERS". Good luck in your search. I have talked to some wonderful folks already. But nothing has panned out for sure. I am also finding the prices way up there too. A little more than what we can spend at this point. But, I am sure something will come along that will be nice enough to show locally and state.

We are going to Hartford, KY this weekend to a water race. Are you gonna make it to the World ? I don't think we are gonna get to go.

Yep, I got your e-mail this morning while I was commenting to Kimberly's thread. The UKC Coonhound forums is where I am at most of the time. I have been slipping over here and checking out the Beagles...

Don, I will give you a call in the morning. I don't want to disturb your sleep. I hope Kimberly gives you a call also. She is a great gal. We have met up at a couple events over the summer and have had a real good time. Her baby girl and our grand daughter are about the same age. I can't wait for them to meet up at a show one day. Both of the girls love these hounds !!
