you have to come up with the officers and a constitution and a set of by-laws to follow... in AKC you have to have a roster of at least 15 people and that is all I know.

It's very simple Jay. We basically need three things.

1) A copy of your by-laws.
2) An officer and membership list (no minimum # of members)
3) Closest city to the club and an abbreviated set of directions to the club.

That's it. No fees involved or anything like that. We even have a sample set of by-laws for you to use if you need it.

we were thinking about setting up a club in Sand Fork...The Glenville Club is compaining that it is too close to them... (6 - 8 Miles away) They only hold 2 hunts a year!!! I hate the Glenville people...they told me that they don't have a set of by-laws.

Pete is correct...I forgot that one. You do need two MOH and BSJ's in your membership.

Todd doesn't a club have to be set up for at least ten years before being allowed to hold ukc events or to be acceted as a club by ukc? I believe I read that somewhere in the rule book or on here at somepoint. If not then I would be interrested in starting up a club in my area and have it where a person can just join instead of being nomuniated by a club member.

Jeff, theres nothing wrong with the berlin club, I just thought it would be nice to have one around here. It would be between Hebron, and Berlin.

there is to many clubs now thats why tey only draw 3 to 6 dogs and everyone has a nt.ch.
i think we need to thin out some good ole boy clubs.

I used to belong to the Glenville club 20 years ago. Some of the problem with having additional hunts there is getting the Rec Center booked. That was an issue that we had at that time with having more hunts. Also now with the lower entries, the club probably does not make much after paying for the Rec Center. How many members does the Glenville club have now? A lot of the members that were in when I was a member have passed on or moved away.

Phil... i do not have the roster currently availible but Me, my dad, Mike Lattea, Basil Melvin, and Doug Woods are the only Coonhunters in the club... the officers dont even own a dog...... Do you know who's daughter this is???? Give you a hint...TOYOTA! We are going to start an AKC club and it is NOT going to be at the rec center.... we need members.... me and my dad and the Woman who owns teh buliding are going to get it started... she had an engish dog out of either Grizzly or Swamp Rooster. as i said... we need members... what do you say?? oh and the tresures report was stated at 15,000 dollars...
