Just Hangin' Around

Well, we're working a young walker female this week. Started her on a caged coon on the ground a few days ago. Last night drug the coon through the woods a ways and hung it up. Released her with our Magic (redbone) and Gunner (english male) the first time. Found it right off, did great.

Anyways, took these shots of Gunner and thought they were to funny not to share. He hadn't been out in a while and was so eager to get it he jumped for all he was worth! Managed to get ahold of it well enough a few times to swing back and forth on the cage.

**** For all you trouble makers... This coon was a repeat offender in the corn. Caught humanly, relocated (away from ANY gardens) and released. He was not killed. ****

Great thread title! Great pix too.
As for the relocating...I was so disappointed we cant do that in MA. We have had to kill 2 in the past for chicken killing. I felt bad because we have had so few. Don't feel AS badly now...we have at least 1 litter of 4 in our hayloft! There may be another litter but...they all look alike so I can't tell. We have a gamecam up there... it's cool watching them grow up and to know we have a bit of a comeback here. NOW... if the Lost Land would make a comeback... the roads would disappear and all the people as well...LOL... we could HUNT here again.....

Thanks for sharing these pix... and Magic is STILL a GORGEOUS creature even though Gunner is the "star" of these pix....

Nope, all teeth present and accounted for!

He actually is not a tree climber, just a jumper. In this case we thought the cage was out of his reach but guess we were wrong.
