Kitten Coon

Here's a little something on the lighter side. The kittens are just starting to run in my area.

Got there just in time to save the little bugger! How he thought that mighty oak he climbed would save him makes no sense to me. This is one little boar coon I hope to see again some day.

Happy hunting!

Putting out tire feeder and heard something above my head in the middle of the day time, Glad it wasnt a mountain lion or a snake coming down on me.

this little guy just watched me fill the tire with dog food and cherries bottled by my mother inlaw who did not take out the pits. good for coonies.its always a good feeling to see the future coming along

I was leaving my fiance's house yesterday... saw a kitten waddling down the middle of the dirt road right at dusk... it was too cute all jacked up in the rear and stepping high like it was walking in sticky stuff. I suppose it was one of the first times it had walked on sand. It went up above 5 feet in a lil tree right by the road... I think it just wanted to look into my truck window.

Our Hayloft

THIS was a THRILL! First babies I've seen in 20 yrs or so. Distemper killed ours yrs ago and we have been pleased to see a few adult coon on our cams. We had discovered they were eating up in our hayloft with the feral cats so we stuck a cam up there. 2 were coming together often and sometimes a single(could have been the same two...can't tell them apart)... Well.. recently our pair had not been seen... I was sad thinking one had been hit by a car... then Bob and I wondered... could one be off with BABIES? Took the chip out of the cam this morning!!!! Here is our new family.....

Forgive me for being SO excited...but this is the SUBURBS... not the country... despite what the city people who move out here think. It is REALLY cool to have them here. It IS driving my bluetick NUTS..but he has started to sleep thru the night again... which is good cause he sleeps on the bed..and his Outdoor voice was a BIT ALARMING in the middle of the night
This comeback is really super. We hope they stay healthy and safe from the Numerous yotes.
Keep hunting the well populated areas, keep the disease down, and do your best to be sure your areas Conserve land for Hunting and Nature etc!!!

HappyHunting! Heather
