Allen-GPS Tracking Systems in UKC Licensed Nite Hunts
I know in the advisor that it says the gps hand held is to be off until time out with no exceptions.
If the dog is out of range when you turn on the gps then you are out of luck. You don't even know which direction to start. Every now and then I have to touch the antennas together to get the collar show up.
What I would like to do is get everything turned on and hook up the roof mount antenna to the hand held. Then leave it in the top storage of the dog box or in the tool box. Also turn off the alarms so you will not hear any sound from the gps.
If I'm deep in the woods when time out is call, I'll just have to walk back. I think this would be fair if everyone is informed before the hunt starts.
I see no reason you cant carry the GPS with it turned on during hunt time, as long as it cant be used or seen during hunt time.
It is probably in your best interest to turn the sound off.
Accoding to the lastest Advisor, a GPS tracker can't be carried by a cast member and turned on during hunt time. It has to be turned off. You can't even use it as a compass or to locate the truck if your dog has a GPS collar unless the clock is stopped. . You CAN use a gps anytime you want if your dog DOESN'T wear a GPS collar.
I can't find anything to says you can't have it on and operating in the truck while the clock is running, you just can't have it on your person.
That is how I understand the ruling.
I agree Jim.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'
That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

TRACKER
DOES THIS MEAN, IF YOU HAVE A CARRYING POUCH, YOU CANNOT CARRY THE GPS TRACKER ?? I UNDERSTAND YOU CANNOT USE IT AND IN THAT MATTER YOU CANNOT USE THE SOUNDS EITHER, BUT TO CARRY IT WITH YOU, WOULD BE NO MORE THAN CARRYING YOUR TRACKER MAXIMA, CORRECT ? THANKS PETE

You know, this year I have had kids handling my dog for me and I have stayed at the truck and run the GPS tracker the entire hunt time. I really enjoyed keeping up with the action on the screen. It now appears that you are not allowed to do that so I guess I better not do it anymore.

I wonder how many people actually see or have ever seen an advisor?

It only took 5 or 6 months for UKC to make a call on this. I knew when this product first came out it there would be some backlash and I'm glad UKC finally made a call. I seen where PKC has made a call on it to or is in the process.
