Pro Plan users

Which one do you feed for the summer? Chicken, beef or lamb? My question is will the Chicken keep a dog cooler than lamb or beef?

Switched

I use to use Pro Plan Performance...Full portions in the Winter and then half Pro/Hi Pro in the Summer...but it got way to expensive and the dogs didn't hold weight well. I spent more time scraping the kennels and more money on food, so instead of Pro Products I use "HI STANDARD" now...It's a much better product, cheaper than Pro by $11.00 and I am much happier with the Quality...The dogs like it better too.

Depending on the dog I use either Pro Plan Performance, the Pro Plan Selects Natural Turkey and Barley, or the Chicken and Rice Adult. I leave them on the same diet year round and have good results from all of them. I would just keep them on the same diet you normally feed them but maybe a little less if they are not getting hunted as hard. My favorite food to feed is a combination of Performance and the Selects...the dogs do great (don't have a problem with them overheating) and I have minimal clean up. Hope this helps...

We switch back and forth between Lamb and Chicken. Both seem to do just fine.

i feed the chicken year round and they are all on feeders so they regulate themselves to how much they eat, they eat less in the hot weather for sure even though they are hunted just as much.

This could be the best solution yet althought I have never done this. Ive always regulated my dogs meself.

I have been on Lamb and hes doing fine. I figured its been so hot that the chicken might do a tad bit better. Pro Plan works great.

I have about exausted all other feeds, tried all of them. Pro Plan puts muscle where it needs to be.

All input is appreciated.

I bought a bag of Canidae this weekend , the local feedstore is carrying it and I'm mixing it with ProPlan ... it is real similiar by the labels but only about half as much fat .

I know what you mean about ProPlan putting on muscle ... it's the only feed I've seen that will fill out a dog hind end and shoulder and still keep their gut tight .

I feed Chicken & Rice year round. In the winter I will switch them over to Performance, but back to 26/18 in the summer. I have at times fed all 3 variations of Pro Plan and have never seen a nickels worth of difference in one keeping a dog cooler better than another. I never made it a point to try to study and watch it though.
