married and hounds

my husband has always hunted the hounds and I've always tended to them here on the grounds. But with the kids about grown my interest in the sport of coonhunting has grown as well.

my question is what are the advantages and disadvantages of my name being on the papers as well as his?

You get to smile and be proud right along with him when you see your name on the night ch. certificate or the show cert. My wife and my daughter are on my dogs because they work harder than I do taking care of our hounds.

My name is on all of our dog papers along with my husband's. Not only is it nice to have bragging rights (yes I hunt a little and show), but in case (God forbid) something happens to either one of us, the other one can sell the dogs if needed with no hassles. This is something Jerry has insisted on from day one, even before I got real involved with the dogs.

The way I see it...

If I'm going to work, bleed, and sweat raising and training pups, MY NAME HAD BETTER BE ON THE PAPERS. OR I WILL SEND THEM RIGHT BACK!!! My husband's name is on everything we own, whether we got it approved in my name, or not.

It's only fair.
