Awesome Hunting Surprise...
A buddy and me about walked right on top of this precious little thing last night on our way to the tree, wasn't any bigger than a house cat. We snapped a quick pic with the phone and detoured around it. Made sure to take a different way back to the truck. It was WAY too cool though....You may go a whole lifetime of hunting and not stumble over something like this again.....

I've come up on several over the years and yes, they are cute! And like you I looked and left them alone.

Aw, how cute! I think it was my first youth hunt I ever went to and the cast came up to one, made my night! Have found a few others since, one was blind I'm pretty sure so I doubt if it lived very long.
Another cute time was coming up on some newly hatched turkey poults. Wildlife, gotta love it!

Yes, the does can get nasty. I had one jump on a young female once, she was definitly deer proof the rest of her life!

Bill, that seems a sure fire way to break dogs from deer! One morning this past Fall, we were taking our pups for a walk back the holler when this 13 point buck came running down off the ridge right past us. He was maybe 5 yards away at the most. We had three pups with us that would've been trampled if we wouldn't have pulled them out of the way. Aint one of them pups ran a deer yet! lol. That buck's antlers dropped off almost right in front of us so we got to keep his sheds too!
