Gasoline Blues!!!!!

This is a true story and all I can do is laugh about it because otherwise I would cry....I wrote this poem to keep from crying..lol

Its payday now and in my glee , I’m headed to the Bank;

Then across the street and to the pump to fill my pickup tank;

I start the pump into my truck, and then I see a pretty girl;

I wave and smile, then to the pump, good grief it’s all a whirl!!

I reach to shut it down , but in my sloth I find that I’m to late;

The number’s huge, that’s for sure, I cannot over state;

I pay the bill then walk outside and I begin to pout;

I drive on home in my disgust, my lower lip pooched out;

At last I’m home and on the couch and hoping to relax;

Laying here thinking about the gas and paying to the max;

Then daughter says “dad I’m low on gas and I am needing plenty”;

Then I reach into my wallet and pull out my last twenty;

She takes the twenty and then frowns and says it very frank;

“ Come on dad , this is nothing , its just a quarter tank;

I lay back down in my disgust and in cussing I refrain;

I reach to flip the heat , the furnace grunts, now I’m out of propane

Mark , these gas prices are absolutely pathetic !! i went to put in 30.00 in my dad's truck yesterday while we were in town , and as i was getting close to the 30.00 mark i had to sneeze and before i could open my eyes to check the dollar amount it had already rang up to 34.00 . what if a person had to sneeze 3 or 4 times in a row ?
