Like to know any info on this hound I know he is NtCh now. Has anyone hunted with him? Thinking of breeding to him. Thank you

its amazing how long Ed Mead has bred this line of dogs, and how in 4 years of blowing has suddenly made you such an expert that you know more about what dog should carry on the line than he does. please people, do not think of the jet dogs as a laughing stock. this is a farce. the man breeding the real jet line is still Ed Mead.

The pitiful jealousy does get rather old no doubt!!

Some raise them & some buy them but my respect remain's with those that have year's of time & dedication to the same line of hound's & ya very seldom hear them wimperin cuz they didn't get 'nuff back slappin for one reason or another.

I beleive this thread was for info about "JET 9" till it got hi-jacked by the best!!

Wouldn't mind hearin some opinion's from somebody myself that don't think they have a vested interest or "THE BEST !!"

Well I suppose this is what started it and I just think this was asking for Drama! But anyhow Gauge is a very good looking Coondog who has done some very good winning in the hunts at a young age Just answering your question here are a few pics of him...............

Its not like those are small events, geuss better than a hunt that only 10 dogs have been entered (not saying that there couldnt be really good ones in the 10, but if your talking more state levels) and I dont know about any bluetick really but Just a lil info that guage is still young but I know hes won at the AKC Extreme and he also won his cast both nights at walker days. But I want to say that Im in this for friends and family and I very much enjoy having the friends I have from the involvement of the hounds and meeting new ones, it just is very aggravating for people to know what buttons to push and I just think these people like the drama more then the hounds.

Also lets remember these dogs are of the same blood, and I know Danny and have met Mr. Mead and both are super nice guys!

As for Danny G. I guss what irritates me the most is I have a phone number at the bottom of my posts, on the UKC Judges & Master of Hounds list why would he not pick up the phone and say have you thought of my dog since we live both here in Ohio insted of this other crap that has been going on on here. I have not been out in the circut of dogs that much in the last year. Other half has had several MAJOR opperations in the last 12 mts. All I was asking was for a little info.

Where did Meads Jet line originate from? Danny helped Mead alot before they kinda went different directions.
Been to Eds more then once, nice guy and family. Met Danny as well nice fella and also packs a nice hound. Winning the bigger events proves alot. Danny is trying to get a top notch male and looks like he's found one.

As two toe said jeolousy is bad.

I like the looks of 9 too!

Ive hunted with Jet 9

Troy i drew Jet 9 last year at Angola In Bluetick Days. Very nice hound from what i seen at a young age. Went hunting hard got struck and nice tree dog that had the meat. Very nice coarse bawl mouth hard ringing chop on tree

I am not an expert on this subject, but it seems like a guy named Lavan Lawson was one of the first to hunt the Jet dogs. I know he owned Jet II, and made Gr.Nt.Ch. at 14 months old.

I think T.E. Neely bought Jet II ( could be wrong about that ) and Ed Mead might have bought him from Mr.Neely. (could be wrong again.) As far as the foundational breeding behind these dogs goes, they go back to mostly Hammer dogs.

I really don't know much about Jet 9, or Guage, but my guess would be they are both above average. The kind of pups they reproduce will depend on the kind of females they are bred to. (JMO)

Like I said, I'm not an expert; I don't even work here!

P.S...Jet II's mother was Dean's Northern Blue Billie. She was a grand daughter to Smokey River Bl. Jerry and Smokey River Bl. Nancy. Had to throw that in for good measure!

Jet 9

I have hunted with Jet 9 and he is a go hunting dog that gets treed and stays put. Jet 9 will keep hammering steady for as long as you want to wait to get to the tree. I have known Ed Mead off and on before he had any of the Jet dogs. One of my favorites that Ed has owned is his old Lady female and that goes back a lot of years. Lady was truely one of the great ones.

Apoligies sent to Troy and Rance56 PM's!!! To all others on this board and Ed, yes as usual I messed up and apolize to the rest of you also. Lots of time and dedication went into helping Ed and helping him with his line of hounds for nearly 4 years. Most don't comprehend what dedication it takes.I'm certainly happy to be hunting one out of Jet 8. Jet 8 and Jet 9 are quality hounds. A certain person can pull my chain and he knows it. I should of been smart enough to not respond. I think I need to take a break from this board and just hunt dogs. Thats what I do best! Sorry, Danny G.
