bighting at the tree
I recently entered my dog in her first coon hunt competition. On the first drop, my dog and the judges dog were treed on the same tree. When we walked up to the tree, the judges dog was chasing mine off of the tree and biting at her. After that my dog jumped back on the tree and got bit so she nipped a lil bit back not bad though. What are your thoughts on me being scratched along with the judges dog?

Check this out....2 weeks ago my son hunted his first ukc hunt. On the first turn loose the judges dog shouldered our dog enough that he was bowled over, judge put my son under warning, our dog had first strike and ran a good track and treed , judges dog also treed, no problems until after tree was scored and judge and my son let dogs get back on tree and petted them both a little. The judges dog then started blowing at my sons dog and my sons dog growled......judge scratched my sons dog immediately, while on leash. My son really freaked out that you can get scratched like that, but he put his dog in the truck and didn't say a word. This happened at Cadiz, Ohio at a RQE hunt. VERY VERY ROTTEN DEAL.
The judge never saw his dog do any wrong and went on to win.
yep
Yeah the judge scratched his dog too in my hunt but that was only because his dog was going after the other two dogs in the cast that came meandering in. I did the same thing as your son did. Just didnt say anything. First drop of the night I got scratched and I really wanted to hunt. Its too bad people cant do it right but thats the way the ball rolls I guess

Brittan, sorry you had a bad experiance on your first nite hunt. That does make it tough to want to go back. Good luck.
