I bought a duncan bred dog last spring. I hunted her for just under a month and found out she was a cull. She was supposed to be a top dog and I didn't think she was worth owning. Not bad for 2 grand.

ENOUGH

HEY HOW ABOUT WE BE MEN HERE YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH KEN CALL HIM ON THE PHONE HE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DUNCAN HOUNDS. IF YOU NOT HAPPY HE WILL REPLACE THEM OR GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK. STOP COMPLAING YOU SPENT 2 GRAND AND DIDNT HUNT WITH THE DOG FIRST. KEN IS AS HONEST A GUY YOULL EVER MEET. EASY TO BASH SOMEONE ON THE COMPUTER.

Duncan

Hey Sods, I got a pair about 11 yrs. ago and were pretty fair bear dogs. Didn't have the best noses but ran hot track real well, were gritty and treed right well.

coonscry

Just food for thought, Coonscry stated he had a Duncan bred dog this tells me he bought the dog from someone else. From whats been stated Duncan breeds and personally sells good dogs but no breeder or hunter can be responsible for abilities or exposer of dogs that may or may not be from his kennel unless you buy directly from the man.

Wow that was a long time ago. I didn't realize I angered some people or I would've stated this.

I didn't buy the dog from Mr Duncan. Just another Utah hound hunter. The dog was duncan bred top and bottom and alledgedly came from Mr Duncan. If I remember correctly. The dog was a cull and 2 years later the next sale is still in dispute because the next guy didn't like her either. Just an experience from me. Not an attack on Mr Duncan at all. I'm sure he breeds some fine dogs.

Bdogs, if you are a pup peddler then you should expect the good with the bad. Every bluetick looking dog in my area is alledgedly cameron bred although I doubt more than a couple are. This dog had papers to show its bloodlines.

I don't get on this site much or I would've seen this sooner and clarified. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

There are all levels of ability that comes from about any breed or bloodline of hound, some will make a bear dog and others will not. The handler has to do his part and hope he has chosen a pup that will make the grade, but you'll find those kind of dogs in a walker, a redbone, an english, a bluetick, or plott dog.......and none of them has a corner on the market! In my opinion, the man who makes that dog--the trainer and handler--has more to do with it than the man who made the cross................
