Well it shouldn't take any more than a long weekend to take care of both. I don't think were going to war with either of these countries, maybe after terrorist organizations within their borders (i.e. FARC in Columbia), but not actually declaring war on the country.

that is what was said about iraq... costs275 million a day, possibly in excess of 3 trillion total, plus the lives of thousands of brave american men and women who serve with honor, not counting the many thousands of iraq citizens... hope we can successfully finsih this war before another begins...

Enough already. Ditto what A Thompson said. Soldiers sign up to fight that's their job. They're aware of the risk. Shut your hole long enough to thank them for it. I don't care how much we spend if it keeps the terroists out of the continental U.S. then keep spending as far as I'm concerned. Have we had any attacks on U.S. soils since this started? The answer is no and the reason is we are taking the fight to them and have created our own little killing field in the Middle East. As long as we have a military presence in the Middle East that's where the terrorists will concentrate their efforts, not over here. I'm fired up now. Anybody else have a stupid comment?

please read carefully, support our brave troops, pointing out the cost has nothing to do with lack of support... iraq was the wrong war, should have fought terrorists where they were, none in iraq before the war.. respect their efforts... soldiers don't get to choose the battle, just get to fight it.. indicated hope we do not get involved in other wars before fisnishing this one, don't think that is a lack of support... hope pray for our success and honor-support the brave men and women that serve..

I believe intelligence showed that terrorists were in Iraq before we invaded.

"Powell told the U.N. Security Council in early February that after al Qaeda and the Taliban were ousted from Afghanistan, Zarqawi established a camp in northeastern Iraq to train terrorists in using explosives and poisons. "

Please note, this is from your favorite news source, not Faux News. Also, please pass this on to your friend Senator Obama, he could use the information after his slip up in his Iraq comments last week.

I'm so sick of everyone saying, "we should have fought the terrorists where they were, not in Iraq."

Come on.... terrorists aren't bound by political boundaries.... they are thick in the middle east... we all know that, they're in every country... Terrorist live in that region... they're primarily regional- not political, and they are most dangerous in countries whose governments are extremely anti U.S.- and the most dangerous one would be Iran. Now that dumb old George W. Bush "invaded" Iraq (which had terrorists) and "invaded Afghanistan" that dumb old Pres. now has a large military presence right in the heart of the region where terrorists come from, but that dumb old president also has a huge army on each side of Iran.... but that was probably just dumb luck... just like it's dumb luck that we've not been attacked since we entered the region.

Also, it's been raining here non-stop for two days and I've not been able to go coonhunting.... this is also probably George W. Bush's fault... I know if a dem. get's elected it'll be sunshine and most likely roses every day..... just look at what the dem. congress did to gas prices... we were told that gas prices were high just because George W. was in bed with big oil (never seen an ounce of evidence but none the less) I remember so many folks saying when the dem's get controll of the congress gas prices would go down.... But maybe they didn't lie in their minds as to many of them up is down and down is up so to them gas prices at 3.10 a gallon is down?????

great that we have the opportunity to live in a free society and express our thoughts-beliefs, have the right to agree-disagree, vote for whatever candidate one chooses, also vital that we support the rights of others with whom we may disagree to express those ideas... I may disagree on some points with others, but support without reservation their
right to be different in thoughts-ideas and expression of the same... vitally important that people exercise their democratic right and vote...

If anybody thinks Iraq didn't have terrorists before the war started better think again. I'll go one further, every country in the middle east had anti-American terrorists in it before the war. Saddam was unfinished business. He should have been removed from power the first time around and what most people forget (or never knew to begin because they didn't pay attention) is that Saddam, as a condition of his surrender, was to allow U.N. inspectors to come and go freely to make sure Iraq wasn't manufacturing any weapons of mass destruction. Well, he kicked the inspectors out and refused to let them return. No one in the world knew what he was doing and because of his past everyone was suspicious. If he would have let the inspectors back in he never would have swung and would still be in power today. As far as starting another war, it's would not be another war. It's the same war fought in another place.......the war on terror. If there are terrorists in Columbia ....get them. If there are terrorists in Indonesia.....get them. For those of you with the wait and see approach I don't want to hear any complaining when the next strike on U.S. soil takes place. I have no use for anyone who would rather react to the next 9/11 as opposed to making pre-emptive strikes to prevent it from happening in the first place.

most likely saddam should have been taken out during the gulf war, when there was a strong coalition to do so that would have had international support including support in the middle east... terrorists do exist in many-many places including our great ally saudi arabia which is the heart-soul-bank roll of islamic terrorism, tough-tough task, need to be vigilant and on the offensive... with that said, still do not feel that iraq was the place to begin, but no doubt cannot negotiate with the terrorist mindset and cannot wait and make the 2nd move..
