Black Stripe on Redbone Pup

I have a question about coloring on a puppy. We are looking at a redbone puppy with a black stripe on his back. Will that go away as he gets older?

IT USUALLY DOES. IT'S VERY COMMON IN REDBONES.

REDBONES ORIGIANALLY WERE CALLED SADDLEBACKS AND WERE COLORED ALOT LIKE TODAYS BLANKETBACKED WALKER HOUNDS. THEY WERE RED, AND HAD BLACK SADDLES. QUITE A FEW HAD WHITE POINTS ON THEIR CHESTS AND WHITE TIPS ON THEIR FEET.

IT'S NOTHING BAD, JUST ALOT OF THAT OLD BLOOD SHINING THROUGH!

IS YOUR PUP MORE OF A TAN COLOR THAN THE DEEP SLICK MAHOGONY? THE REASON WHY I ASK IS IN THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, WE'VE NOTICED WITH OUR FRIENDS REDBONES THAT THE ONES THAT HAVE THE BLACK ON THEM, THEIR HAIR IS OFTEN TANNER IN COLOR, AND AT LITTLE LONGER AND COARSER THAN SOME OF THE OTHER RED DOGS WE'VE SEEN.

DONT KNOW IF THAT HELPED YOU, BUT IT SURE GOT ME TO THINKING ABOUT PAST DOGS! LOL.

EVERYTHING happens for a reason.

the black strip is normal in redbone pups......especially the small ones.....under 10 weeks. it will go away and so will the black tail.
