i have an older 8000 hour sealed collar and was wondering if there is anyway i will be able to tell when its about to go dead? it has no light on it and i dont want to be in the timber and it just go dead. thanks

No way that i know of. I use QuickTracks and know them well enough to notice when they start showing a dog a quarter mile way as being a half mile away and that is my que to get the battery replaced.

Jim is right! You will notice a diminished signal strength, and the duration between beeps will be longer.

By tha way....I just got a QuickTrack collar back after having the battery replaced. I'd estimate that collar had been used 250 nites per year for the last 6 years and was still working ok but I figured it was time for a new battery. I got back what looked like a new collar. New strap, new antenna, new housing. I assume the guts were from my old unit. $60.00+$12.00 shipping=$72.00 .
