Ohio State!!

Ohio State is going to the national championship's baby!!! I think they will play LSU personally, but it dont matter who they play. THEY GONNA STOMP ON ANYONE!!

Posted by Chiggers on 12-02-2007 05:04 PM:

If Ohio St. plays LSU, they will get the same fate as last year, when they played the best of the SEC.

tOSU just better hope they don't run into another SEC team.

Other than that they win.

If they played in the SEC they would have finished 4th or worse in the conference.

B-10 is just weak as water this year, Appy state beat Michigan that ran roughshod through the rest of the conference etc.

Just like last year when Florida said "heck it wasn't a big deal to beat them like that, there's three or four other SEC teams that would have beat them just as bad", the same could be said this year.

We'll see, it's mighty nice to play a very weak schedule and back into the NC game.

Virginia Tech had made that a staple a few years ago LOL.

They got a month to get better, but LSU would hand them their backsides. They have a better chance against Georgia (highly over rated IMO as well).

If LSU can win banged up playing as tough of a schedule as they have , shame on Ohio St. if they can get healed in the month off. Look what they did to Va. Tech healthy, and they are a good team. When LSU is healthy I believe there are a lot NFL teams they could beat. I do not look for this game to be as close as the Fl game last year.

lol, at beating NFL teams. btw, osu is very undeserving of a natl title shot. heck everyone is this year for the most part when you think about. "signature" wins over penn st and mich just doenst do it for me.

I am not a ohio st fan at all, but they can only play the teams in the big 10 that are scheduled. They might have had an easy nonconference schedule, but they still had to beat them.
This is exactly why the BCS is BS. They need a playoff. LSU has to many losses. What about Hawaii? There undefeated. They tried to play anyone, anywhere. I think that there getting the shaft.

Just to let you SEC fans know something. Ten. had how many losses? And they played in the title game?

rance if you really think that is a joke just compare their size and speed to NFL players playing now and that might not seem so funny. How many big backs are playing in the NFL that can run 4.3, 40's. Their d-backs can all run 4.3- 4.4. Hester can run a 4.5 and benches 450lbs. This team is loaded with NFL talent the question is can they get healthy by bowl time.

it is a huge joke. every player on sundays is getting paid to play, a handful on lsu will wind up there one day. yes lsu has some nfl talent, but there has been past college teams with alot more, i.e. miami 2001 and they still wouldnt beat a pro team. pro teams wouldnt lose to kentuckys and arkansas's of the world.

LSU would not beat a single NFL team nor would any college team for that matter.and I doubt they are going to kill OSU either.they will prolly win but they actually match up pretty good against eachother.

Posted by ysudep2 on 12-02-2007 11:28 PM:

OSU is a pretty young team. You may think they dont deserve it this year but wiat until nexy year and the year after. Im calling it right now, they win the championship this year, they gonna win 3 in a row. O-H...I-O!!

Now that I think about it you may be right.

LSU is closer to a Big 10 team than anything else in the SEC, meaning they have more size and less speed.

They are not a true "speed" SEC team like Florida, Tennessee (where even the tight ends are faster than the Michigan secondary), Georgia.

Those true "Speed" teams give the big 10 the most trouble because if you can't catch em you can't tackle em.

LSU is a shade bigger, and a shade slower than most SEC teams so they may match up better.

I still think the speed difference will be enough that LSU has a relatively easy time of it unless they make boneheaded mistakes etc from over confidence.

If I rember a couple years ago a "slow" big ten team came calling,Capital One Bowl. No Way a team like Iowa could beat LSU, How did the crow taste then? Humm I hope you have some leftover's you just may need them...

Iowa 30
Lsu 25

If I remember right you got some very lucky breaks and some very questionable calls went your way down the stretch. That's part of the game and Iowa deserved to win but they lose 9 out of 10 to LSU that year if they played them. Everything went perfect for them that day, but hats off to them they earned it and made the plays they needed to make to win.

At any rate LSU was playing up that year because they were in the same position as Tennessee this year. Not a very good SEC team solid but not "good", but caught a snakebit Tennessee team in the SECCG who turned the ball over when going in to score the winning TD 2 different times (not forced TO mind you but just RB dropping the ball on the ground without contact etc). To top it off Tennessee knocked out the LSU quarterback for ya too in that game.

It would have been similar if Tennessee had won this year, yeah they would have been SEC champs but only beause LSU was beat up and injured not because Tennessee was anything close to championship caliber (we wouldn't have been within 20 points of them without the injuries they have).

As I said before LSU isn't the typical "speed" team and the little 10 matches up better with them (as they typically do with the SEC West).

That same year Tennessee, the typical speed SEC East team played the little 10 champs (or maybe cochamps?) Michigan. The tight end not only outran but pulled away from every single player in the secondary. PULLED AWAY. Of course Vandy gave us a better game that year than Michigan. Wasn't that the worst bowl loss in the history of Michigan?

I suspect if LSU gets some players healthy they will waltz pretty easily over tOSU just like Florida did last year. Remember Vandy gave Florida a better game than tOSU last year too, tOSU couldn't even make a game of it.

tOSU at best would have been 4th place in the SEC this year, just like last year they would have been in about 4th-5th place in the SEC.

By the same token those true "speed" SEC teams struggle with TRUE power running Big 12 teams. If you have that matchup bet on it every time cause the Big 12 will win it just like the SEC will beat the little 10 the great majority of the time.

LSU still needs to get into the big game..we all know OSU is going for sure but I like oklahoma over LSU.

we need a playoff system

Posted by 5 speed on 12-03-2007 03:21 AM:

I remember a few years ago when a Miami Florida team was a 13 point favorite to win the big game. Then they met up with a real defense. tOSU still has the rings to prove how that game went.

Michigan had a down year BUT, they still had the Quarterback that has more passing yards and a running back with more rushing yards than anyone else in U of M history. That team had 91 yards of total offense the day they played tOSU. If you think that ANYONE is going to hang a ton of points on this Ohio State D, you're crazy.

LSU got beat by the football powerhouse Kentucky (snicker) and LSU is THAT much better than tOSU?? Doubt it.

As for "backing in" to the championship game? Who wasn't going to "back in"? Everyone that was going to have a chance to get in, had a loss. Whoever was going to the game was going to "back in".

Ya know how I know tOSU is going to win the championship game? Because Mark May said they wouldn't.

BCS GAME

OK,Ok..... all you people that have drank you OHIO STATE HATER-AIDE take it easy. Ohio State does deserve to be there. It is not a perfect system we all know that and this topic could be argued over and over, and someone will still think it is not fair. The fact is that Ohio Stae and LSU are playing for the title. PERIOD! You can rant all you want it will not do any good. To all the LSU fans out there I respect your team very much and look forward to the match up. LSU is an awsome team and we will have to play our best to come out on top. Good luck to all your teams no matter who they are and what bowl you are in!!! TIS' the season!!! LOL

I take it you do not undertsand how the conference works.

A little hint, pretty much no different than in the NFL and who wins their conference division.

GA and TN Tied in their division............since TN beat GA when they played, then TN owned the tie breaker and thus won their division.

Undefeated Hawaii will now get their shot at seeing how well they can match up with a big school. Glad to know it's an SEC school (GA - and perhaps the best SEC school since the VOLS took them to the outhouse) that will welcome them to playing against the SEC.

Posted by RH. on 12-03-2007 03:59 AM:

Georgia will prolly smoke Hawaii and I can name about 15 other schools that will prolly do the same thing..and as much as I am for the Big 10 I am afraid to even watch florida and michigan play becuase michigan is gonna get picked to peices and it aint gonna be pretty.I would say SEC is as loaded as they have ever been and the Big 10 is not at its greatest..the one good thing we have to look forward to is that almost every Big 10 is young and I am excited to see Illinois in the next couple years.and every year I get to much faith in my hawkeyes they dont even make a bowl game LOL

well we ALL remember the phantom pass interference call also.

i dont think there has ever been 2 less desrving teams in one natl title game as there is this year. lsu has 2 losses and osu has beaten absolutely no one. for the first time ever, i agree we need a playoff

If any team deserves to be in the title game LSU does. They have beat more ranked teams this year than any other Div 1A team out there period. and they did it with injuries of play makers on both sides of the ball. Looking at their schudule and accomplishing what they have they desrve to be there. Look at USC and the injuries they suffered. LSU and USC really should have been in the title game IMO but the injuries hurt USC worse this year but now they are healthy and are a very good team. If LSU can heal some of the play makers they will win if not they loose. Simple.

Rance, was there a penalty on that play by the Miami player?

I really think it should be Hawaii and Kansas. The two best records in College football. I thought that was what the BCS was for?

On another note I think that OSU is in deep trouble just like last year. LSU has the team speed to put a hurting on the darn Buckeyes!!
