Bullet, thanks alot for the kind words. Thanks alot also for turning me onto this bloodline of dogs. I have really enjoyed hunting them for the past 4 years and plan on hunting this line of dogs for the rest of my life. It is too bad Rip wasn't bred to more, there is no telling what kind of impact he could of had on the walker breed if he had been bred to like some of these big name stud dogs but I am glad that I got a dog off of Rip to start my breeding program with. Thanks again and have a good weekend.
congrats Jeffrey!
i was in the woods pleasure hunting last night with a man from Hampstead named Tommy Reeves and i mentioned your name. He had nothing but high regards and compliments for you. Matter of fact if i have ever mentioned your name to anybody i always hear good things, and that is the truth, no kidding. That speaks loud when someone says things like that when you aint around. You and your dog sure enough deserve that title and i know you got it the right way.
Best wishes to finish him to grand nite.

Thanks alot Wick.
I too wish more folks would've bred females to Rip. I had several calls from folks looking at old ads wanting to breed females after Rip had died. He was a one of a kind hound and reproduced hounds that were straight, accurate, and had good noses. I'm just glad that I did breed some females to him and was able to see some benefits and results of my limited breeding program. It also means alot to see these results coming from a man with a good reputation. The results are non-negotiable then.

Congrats on on your win! Couldn't happen to a nicer person.
way to go bro!!!
Thanks everybody for your kind words. All of the friends I have met thru these old hounds are the best friends I have. Thanks again for everything.
I see a lot NC folks posting here and thought I would try to get some nfo on ya'lls laws...... Buddy had a B&T female killed Sat morning at 6:04 am in Polk County near Hendersonville. I have tried to call some of the folks in the NCCHA but have no returned phone calls. Clint Pace has been helping me out and it seems talking with him and Abril that on someones land they can kill a dog???? That blows my mind but that's not our case but any help and info would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah congrats on your title and ol Rip through some nice uns. Travis did you ever find that dog that Heath had? my cell is 864-641-5430 If you would ask me any questions and I will reply it would take too long to type to entire story.
Congrats and best of luck in the hunts to come!

Thanks Erin and Patrick. YRJ, I don't know what to tell you about your situation. David Gardin is the president of the North Carolina Coonhunters Association. He would be the one to call. You can find his # listed under the master of hounds list for North Carolina. I hope this helps and I am sorry to hear about your friends female.
YRJ, I will tell you straight from a county sherrif. Unless the dog is killing or harassing livestock you can do more time for that than a person. My wifes sister's husband was trying to shoot a dog that had killed her cat. That is what he told her and my wife.

I left a message with David yesterday but no return call. Is there anybody else with the state association ya know of?? Fred its funny you mention that the deer hunter claims that a 1 and half year old B & T female attacked him but have digging the dog back out of the ground the sheriff and the vet both agree that the dog had been shot from the back and the bullet exited around the spine. Resulting in being shot from behind. Also both say animal cruetly and no way the dog was attacking in a "reverse" gear. Basically the guy and his 13 year old son shot the female at 6:05 AM or in the dark. DNR is not going to be much help as the CO was present at the time the deer hunter came out of the woods and claimed that there was nothing he could do. I would like to get some support from the coon hunters in NC because I think we have a good case. The bear hunters are already on board and I am working on a press release for a week or so... Any info is appreciated. Joe 864-641-5430.
Joe, I hope you guys can get in touch with someone soon. Jeffrey told you the same person I would've said to contact. If you were talking about the Battleground Rip dog in the earlier post that Heath used to hunt for Bubba I heard that he died. Hopefully I'll be at Orangeburg this year and if you're there maybe we can catch up on some lost time. I haven't attended any hunts lately and I haven't seen any of you guys from Spartanburg in a long while. You guys always put on good hunts and make me feel welcome each and every time I have been there.
