I was a reservist for 8 Years. A Combat Medic (1994-2002) who never saw action, kinda weird, however, I am thankful for those somewhat 8 peaceful years. I am very thankful for all those who have donned the uniforms of our armed forced and have performed their duty without hesitation.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

My Dad. He did 30 years in the Air Force (even lied about his age to get in at 17). Retired as a CMSGT. He did his time in Vietnam and recently passed away 6/20/07) after a brief battle (one month) with cancer, go figure. Seems like Vietnam and cancer go hand in hand. We thank all of the service personnel for continuing to carry the torch. GO AIR FORCE.

HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART FOR EVERY MAN AND WOMAN WITH THE INTESTINAL FORTITUDE TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY, AND I STILL TEAR UP WHEN I HEAR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AND LOOK AT OUR FLAG AND REALIZING THE SACRAFICES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE NOT ONLY FROM OUR PROUD WARRIORS BUT ALSO THE LOVED ONES THAT ARE LEFT TO GO THROUGH LIFE WITH A PIECE OF THEMSELVES MISSING.
