Where are all the NH Paaaatridge??

I'm looking for some good Ruffed Grouse hunting somewhere in NH, ME, or VT. When I was a kid you could almost step on them before they flushed..now if you're lucky enough to jump one at all...they flush 100 yards from you. I guess thats how they've learned to survive with all these coyote. Anyway, any outfitters on here let me know. I'm hoping to do a half day hunt this winter.

Man, late season pats can be tough cause of the lack of cover. You shoulda done a half day hunt a month ago. We had plenty of birds in Mich. this fall and they'll hold for a dog that knows how to handle them. We always do a late season hunt too but it's a miracle to actually point and kill one in the winter.

If we're not suppose to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

We dont have many partridge in south central NH. I wish we did Todd, back years ago we sure did. I heard there are some pockets up north, and in ME and VT that still hold alot of tight sitting birds. Down around here it's all pheasant and woodcock.

i think all the ruffed grouse in nh moved here to ny. they are so thick here there a pain when coon hunting they flush out and i have been hit a couple of times them and the turkeys are really thriving

Really? what part of NY is that?

western ny between binghampton and oneonta. we have a lot of beechnut trees and the partridge are real thick where the beechnut trees are that supports them when the snow gets deep we had our fiest snow this morninf about an inch but its all gone by noontime.
coon was running real good last night got in about 2 this morning and was surprised to see the snow on the ground this morning
