All non residents regardless of age must buy a furharvester license and habbitat fee to hunt in iowa and can only get a license if their state also provides a non resident license to iowa residents...............So I don't know for sure if you can tag along with out one or not..I hope you dont need one because it will cost ya over $200 a person!!!!!!!!

try it you'll like it

I can't wait! Settin traps all morning then heading out when it gets dark. The boys may be okay, but the adults are not and the law enforcement is out in full force this year. If you go tonight rather than tomorrow night they may go more easy on you.

So if I"m even trying out a dog in Iowa during kill season, it would cost me 213.00.. Even if I don't buy him. LOL. So if the dog is 150.00, I have to pay 213, just to try him. Total price for a 150. dollar dog. 363.00. LOL. + gas and lodging.

Jeff you need a fur harvester license. Its the law!! Just walking along you'll need it. Not sure on the youngsters. I do think they have the license for under age kids too. If you go be prepared to hide in the woods if you see a strange vehicle! Wardens around here are very sneaky.

Bryan do you have a book on it. Thier's going to be no gun's at all. Curious if it state's any thing, or give a no. I could call and check on it.

If you have a no. Bryan of a local warden, I"d take it. Just don't seem to make sence. I could be in the wood's at night for alot of reason's. Don't make us guilty of any thing if thier's no firearms.

You don't need a licence in a night hunt, the permit number is on top of the scorecard. Just a guess but I would say UKC pays or contributes to the DNR to get this right.

Things were a little slow down here, finished the night with 2 done about midnight. the skunks, oppossum, and deer were out in full force along the roads.

Posted by lightning1 on 11-04-2007 06:57 AM:

The way the state sees it if you run a dog you need a license. You may not have a gun but the dog might kill one.

Made about 8 trees and saw 10 coon.
