I believe the coons are starting to move!!

I believe they are starting to move here in NC cause me and my buddy went saturday and made two turnouts and 3 trees. Saw a coon up 2 of the trees and on the way out the dogs treed on the lead up a den. We were gone bout 2 hours total. Last night we left at 8:15 and treed at 8:30 saw the coon and was back at 8:50. I guess that is that is what happens when you hunt River Bend Treeing Walkers huh??? lol

Same here I have seen more coons in the past 2-3 weeks than I have seen in a long time. No one hunts around hee much anymore I guess. I have been to alot of trees with 3-4 coons in each tree in the past week or so.

been seeing lots of coons around here as well... plenty of 2-3 sets of eyes in a tree.

I seen 2 last week fishing at 6:15pm.Two weeks ago I spotted 5 before dark moving on the river banks.Too bad my father-in-law won't let me use his Stratos to hunt out of!

Posted by SCBluetickGirl on 10-03-2007 04:41 PM:

Yeah, I'm in SC and we've been seeing them everywhere, especially ma's with little ones. Also been seeing a bunch dead in the road. They must be on the move!

.... they also won't stop eating the **** corn piles. Corn's too expensive....

Back at 8:50? Whats wrong, scared of stirring up a whitetail on the next dump?

Just kidding. I couldnt resist...

The coons have been moving good here too this week. The acorns are getting right. Find a patch with some water and good oaks and the coons are moving.

Same here in MN. Spot's I didnt get nothing going this summer, in the last week we tree'd 3-4 every night we went thier. Seem' every place we drop now, were getting tree'd quick. Not like this summer, we had to work for um.

Man, just when I think I got a new powerhouse I find out EVERYONE has been treein the snot out of 'em!!! LOL

Accualy, I've had Crank out alone 6 of the last 7 nights. Shes treed over 20 coon in that time, just counting 1 per tree. Everyone of them was in an oak tree somewhere. Several doubles, triples, and litters.

I figure the cool nights have them moving around.

Im glad to hear everyone is doing good. I tell ya what we wasnt doin worth a darn around here over the summer and up until now. This past summer is probably the worst huntin ive ever done in my life. We have had water restrictions round here for I dont know how long and aint seen no rain in forever. I have a pup thats 4 months old and I dont even think shes seen rain yet. lol Well God Bless and Good Huntin'
