How open are treeing curs or walker x curs

I like the way the amzing curs look. There are some bear hunters around here that hunt cur hound crosses how much cur how much plott nobody knows, but there good dogs. I just like to hear were they are going and how they got there. There is a world class walker in my area CH GRNITECH' PR' Jets Treebangin Stylish Son Style on the top side he is out of Jet who's brother is Stylish Rube who sired the youngs world champ on the bottom side is Noctural Tipper who's brother Skipper who sired world champ X JR. O by the way Jets treebangin son came in 19th in the world at 17 months old he is going back to the world this year as a 4 year old look for him. Back on topic how open are the hound x curs????

It really depends on the hound and the cur used in the cross. You could get open pups... semi open and silent in the same litter. Take care.

I agree...I had two sisters both half hound half cur(1/2 Noct Nailor 1/2 Shamrock line). Both silent on squirrel but one wide open on coon and the other stone silent. Most of the time you can figure semi on bigger game and silent on small. A lot of people think that hound in them makes them wide open on all tracks but so far in my cases (even with complete cur outcrossed blood on the hound) that is not the case.

Now the two OMCBA mtn curs I had years ago were wide open on all game so maybe with a different line of Cur you might have a better chance of semi to open but it is always hard to say. It seems to be more of an individual trait to the particular dog.

My cur side is open so maybe I will get a open cross. I talked to Wick about your dog he said they where nice just no real open, but maybe with my walker having X JR dad sister in it's boold maybe they would cross good.
