Home Again or Avid chips are 5.25 each

Posted by RedBones4me on 08-23-2007 10:30 PM:

You can get it right here.... http://www.quailhillkennel.com/

$20.00 for the Home Again Microchip, payable to Quail Hill Kennel and Supply and a $17.50 one time fee payable to Home Again to register your dog in the National Database

Call Eric and jennifer and they can let you know better than I can about the prices.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

I think you can get them at those prices if you order from places like Petedge, jeffers, etc. in bulk.

IF I recall Mr Cannon may have links to where they can be found at that price. He has some animal supply knowledge.I researched the chips at one point. They CAN be found at low cost. We just have ours done at the vet because we don't have many dogs. If I had more I'd buy in bulk and do it myself. It is JUST like giving a shot. If you can handle a syringe and needle without fainting.... you can easily do it.

The biggest costs involved with chipping are the scanners.

chip

When you get the chip be sure it is registered in your name.If a vet office does it it will be registered to them and it will cost you to have it put in your name.Just thought you should know.BE SURE THE CHIP IS REGISTERED IN YOUR NAME!!!!!

Here locally, the Humane Society does it for either $20 or $25. Then you have to have to pay the fee to Home Again to have it registered, not real sure how much that cost, seems like $15.

We had our house dog done! My wife was afraid that nappy thing would get lost and not find its way home......!!

Thanks Dale, We do chip dogs, the pricing Voyd quoted is bulk(25 or more) and the scanner is high,,our's was pricey but worth it, we ONLY use Home again chips, simply because they are made to bond with the internal side of the dogs skin to prevent movement unlike Avid which sometimes end up down at a dogs foot, If we can help in any way,,please just ask.
