When Do You Start Shine Time ?

3 dog cast and all dogs are treed in. 1st dog is on a tree by itself, the other two dogs are in a big log drift covering a beaver den.The one is on the top and easy to handle but the other is up under and out of site. I cant handle my dog quickly. should the shine time start anyway or not until my dog is handled.

I don't think you can start shinetime till all dogs at that tree are handled. Was your dog considered to be treed on the same tree as the dog being scored for 1st tree? If not, then I think they can start without your dog being handled but they can't score what your dog is on until your dog is handled.

My dog and the other had 1st tree on the beaver den. dog 3 actually had 3 tree but was bumped up when she had split. But her tree was to scored after ours. I had to crawl up inside the drift & beaver den to get my dog out and it took about 12 min. I didnt start time until my dog was handled. Handler of 3rd dog thought our shine time should be over by the time i got mine handled.

when dogs on that tree are handled and the judge says "start shinin". Dont forget to ask the handler with 1st tree if he wants to shine by himself first.

where were you going to shine, if your dog was under logs?

The drift was about 10' tall and about 25' around. We found the coon and was plussed. The dog by itself took a circle.Big tree but couldnt find coon. After squalling and shaking bushes the coon came out on top.
