should be there in time

for a pleasure hunt Thursday if anyone wants to meet up. I'll be the lady with the loud laugh wearing checkered glasses in a red Jeep with a redbone.

Newbie question for locals or UKC:
Do I need an Indiana and/or Ohio hunting license for an unofficial pleasure hunt? If so, will they available on the premises or do I have to purchase one in advance? Looks like there is a $31 5 day nonresident license available, but its not clear whether you need one to run coon with dogs if you're not carrying firearms, and not clear whether that would be available at the fairgrounds.

You don't need one for the hunt. However you should get one if you plan on pleasure hunting. It is required in Indiana to run dogs. Or be a rebel and test your luck. You can get them at wal-mart or online.

Yes you will need a license if you plan on hunting other than the official UKC hunt, The local club has purchased a permit from IDNR that "covers" any and all hunters for the UKC hunt.

There is a K-mart just up the road from the fairgrounds, you can purchase them there or you can log onto the IDNR(Indiana Department of Natural Resources) website and purchase them there and print them out.
