mine just started coming in @10 months old first time ive ever had 1 that young come in

just wondering I have a 5 month old female in with a five month old (from a different litter and didn't want her to be bred until they proved themselves.....

Wow guys! 6 months? That is so young. They are still babies! I sure never thought about one coming in at six months. I have raised off male & female pups together before and never thought about that possibliity. Sure will now. Sure wouldn't want a breeding that young, proven or not. That's just too young!!!! Sure gives ya something else to worry about when raising a pair off together.

The earliest here was 10 months.

The only ones i have seen bred that young had problems having the pups. Might not have anything to do with age, but they shouldnt have bred them that young anyway. You dont even know what kind of mouth they're going to have at 6months much less what kind of dog they will be

I had two sisters in the same pen and the one come in heat at 6 months old. The other female was 12 months old before she ever come in.
