"...I'm always amazed that people pay a fortune for a truck, dog box, tracking equipment, training equipment, gas, motel bills, entry fees, etc. but think $300-$500 is too much for a dog that they then feed the cheapest dog food they can find. And then whine about the 50 cents they spent on food for the dog that day as they're downing the first of several $2.00 beers. So, on that day there's no training or conditioning of the dog, its not being given the best of opportunities, and then on the weekend, the owner loses his cast and says its a rich man's sport and 10% of the people win 90% of the money. Then they go get another beer to cry in and prepare (again) to lose next week."

came off the prohound site about the new program they are coming up with. while this post says a lot in general, it doesn't mention the very large entry fees that most were talking about. Thank the lord above that the UKC hasn't gotten so money hungry that it has to forget about the small men and women who work very hard everyday for their money, and scratch around to find the entry fee to enter hunts with their dogs. yes the big time handlers are still here too, but if you get beat by ole slick willie here, it didn't cost you your gas and meal money for the week. Over there, they are talking about entry fees that are higher than some people have coming into their household for the month. i think they should be ashamed of themselves. nope...a small time man with a good dog is shut out over there. besides that, i don't think all their cheaters have been discovered just yet, and some major money is baout to be dealt with. i do look for a lot of trouble over there in the coming year. sure, i'll hunt the small open events they have in my area, when there isn't a UKC event here, but no matter how good your dog is, over there you better hire slick willie if you want to win, and get a big bank note to boot. We all need to thank the UKC for being here for us small guys. THANKS UKC..

I dont drink lol !!!!!!!!!! AND sure dont feed ol roy....... That new program is a rich mans program... Not saying I want ever pay one up but I'd probably be just as well off to go buy 500 dollars worth of lottery tickets. Be about the same chance as paying 500 on a 12 mth old pup...

You guys are losing grasp of his point he's not directing the comment at nobody and if it offended you it must of hit home your pastor does it every Sunday!!!!All he is trying to say prepare to win don't make excuses and don't tear away at another mans character to make yourself feel better about losing..........And if you don't like the program don't participate!!!!!!!

Guy's I haven't hunted in the UKC hunts since 1992, but this is exactally why I ordered my subcription to the Coonhound Bloodlines and am plannin' on hittin' as many as I can !

W/ PKC IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY ! IT'S NOT ABOUT WHO HAS THE BEST HOUND, IT'S ABOUT WHO HAS THE DEEPEST POCKETS !

YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT MR HORNER.
