Eye problem question

My 1 year old male has red- kind of watery eyes most of the time, my female never does, ,someone told me it was a hound thing... But to me it looks like he has allergies Do dogs get this type problem? what can i do? Thanks

Does he have droopy eye lids? If so it could be from dust and trash. If not then try a different dog food. I think food allergies were covered in the post on worming. I just looked and it is the thread about ear problems. Ahallada is a vet and he covers many good topics in his posts.

Do her eyelids turn in(Entropion) This is fairly common and their eyelashes then rub against the eyeball. The only fix is surgery. Take the dog to a vet and have it checked out!!

Yep, take the dog to the vet! Eyes are worth a million. I have had dogs eyes worked on in a vets office. They had to correct there eye lid so it wouldn't turn down causing lash to rub eye. They will go blind if not fixed.
But the dog may just have debris in it too, especially if it has loose eye.
