Youth Contest?

We recently bred a female of ours and thought it might be fun to give a youth a pup. We were thinking about having an essay contest for one. Didn't know if there would be much interest though.

Any of you know a youth ages 5-16 who may be interested?

How about some topic ideas as well?

As soon as her pregnancy is confirmed we'll post info. on UKC and our website if we can get enough interest in it.

Keep them coming and also reply please if you would like to enter or know someone who would. Would like to have at least a dozen to choose from.
Think we are going to have a "panel" of judges, both hunters and show people as well as one pet owner who does some proof and editing work. Probably be 5 so as not to have a tie.

Don't want location to be an issue, hoping to talk with some transportation people and see if some aren't willing to transport for free.

Oooh...

Just had an idea. What about offering a selection of topics to write about and letting the youth pick one? That may be more fair since some hunt and not show, or show and not hunt... maybe neither and just need a dog to get started with.
