Glenn Postlewait passed away

My good buddy and fellow beagler who got me started in these field trials has passed away. He's participated in the ukc field trials for alot of years. He lost his battle with pancreatitis that hit him suddenly. He spent 25 days in ICU on a ventilator and passed away on Sunday evening (7/22). It'll be hard to get back in the trials without him. He ran dogs in the morning and evening EVERY day.
Obituary with picture at ....www.timeswv.com (follow link at top for obituary)also has memorial service info for Saturday (7/28)

Address for Family for cards: Postlethwait Family
PO Box 243
Grant Town, WV 26574

I've gotten to know alot of great guys at these field trials and thought I'd register to this forum just to pass this info on to you.

Billy,

I am sorry to hear about Glenn. Everytime I was pulled out with him we had a great time. I will miss seeing him at the trials. He was a stand up gentleman.

I can remember just last year we pulled out together in Champions in a two dog cast at Lost Creek. We had so much fun my sides hurt for two days after that. We sat under a tree in the shade as his Sue dog and my Sugar dog hunted there butts off. They got one up and moving and Glenn looked at me and said "It is too hott to leave this shade and go score a line".

He will be missed,

Bill Ashcraft

So Sorry Billy, Glenn was a heck of a man and I know he was your GOOD friend, The last time I ran with you was the day after they took him to the hospital, and you weren't yourself from worrying about him, Hang in there buddy, and you better keep them dogs in shape. Ya know Glenn would want that. I know I live a long ways away but if there is ANYTHING I can do don't hesitate to ask, I had alot of good times in the field with you and Glenn. See ya soon Scott

I only got into UKC Trials this past spring and got to know Glenn in two casts with him. He was a stand up guy that knew a lot about beagles. His laughter and joking around will be missed for some time to come at the trials. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thoughts and Prayers

For the Postlewait family and for you and his other friends as well. I'm so sorry for your loss. A good friendship doesn't end when one dies. Mr Postlewait is right there, in your heart. He took a piece of you with him as well and is healthy, strong, young and never lonely.
I hope the memories you all have of him live on,
Sincerely, Heather William

Glenn Will Be Missed....

To Billy, Postlewait Family, and Friends....

Glenn was a great man, personally i only knew him from UKC Trials... However, like alot of you know when trialing and having casted out with Glenn a few times i can say everything i knew about the man told me he really carried himself with alot of integrity. Not that it winning was most important to him... But to me Glenn was a winner... In all honesty my last two memories of him were @ craigsville when i casted out with him and he won our cast.... and just recent @ Wayne's WQE (apparently about a week before he found out he was sick) Glenn won the whole hunt. That day Glenn was on cloud nine. In fact, they were joking with him wondering if there was going to be enough room in the truck to get his bighead home... Though limited, i'm glad to say i knew the great Glenn Postlewait.

My prayers go out for all of those morning tonight...

-Jack

I told Billy Barber about this and it looked like I just slapped him, Him and Glenn were GOOD Freinds, Whenever we came to WV Glenn was usually the first person Billy looked up, and every year at the Nationals Glenn would bring Billy a big ol bag of ramps, I made him quit giving them to him in WV cause I couldn't stand riding home with Billy after he ate them LOL, Billy wanted me to post that his thoughts and prayers are with family and freinds,
