Scary hunt last night

In the last 2 years I've had 4 operations on my left eye and don't have much vision left in it. Last night we were searching a leafy tree the dogs were treed on. There was very heavy brush where we were and as I was looking up in the tree something hit me in my right eye(the good one) There was instant pain and I couldn't see anything. Needless to say the hunt was over. All I could think of was "I hope I didn't injure my right eye. Today my vision has cleared eye doesn't hurt as much, eye is red but no scratch in it. I think I'm going to invest in a pair of saftey glasses with side shields. When you only have one good eye and something like this happens it's scary. Glad my hunting partner was there to drive me home. All in all the hunt was good up to that. Treed 2.

Thanks, Mr. Hennessey, for a good safety tip for anyone with eyes! I am specially glad your good eye will be okay.

OUCH!

Glad your eye is feeling better this morning! Glad the hunt went ok besides that too. I just had my motorcycle glasses(they are perscription) made for day night use so I can use them when I finally get healthy enough to go coonhunting. I thought alot about eye injury and wanted something protective on. They are Ugly as sin but they work!
One of my sisters just got over an eye injury from a branch she met hiking in the woods in daylight.... everyone should think long and hard about eye protection out there! Especially at night. I'm enough of a clutz without adding the dark....
Glad you'll be ok and I think the safety glasses are a GOOD idea! HappyHunting, Heather

Glad your Eye is OK, Safety Glasses would be a Good idea.
If I were you, I would go see an eye doctor just to be sure you dont have anything embedded in your eye.

One of my hunting buddys wears safety glasses in the woods. He wears contacts. One night when we were out hunting he managed to lose both contacts. He is about blind without them. I got him out of the woods that night but ever since then he wears safety glasses in the woods.
