Advisor rulebook?
Howdy.
I'm in the process of getting my master of hounds licsence. Anyway, the MOH at our local club said UKC puts out a rulebook called the "advisor." Said it was more like the size of a magazine with different situations in it to help you find the right interpretation of the rules. I was wondering how I could get one. I looked on UKC's website, but I found nothing. Maybe he was mistaken.
There are 2 of us right now in our home club getting our liscence. We need the extra help, and I can't really hear good enough to competition hunt much anyway.
Anyway, thanks in advance for the help!
what do
what do u got to do to get your licence

From what I was told back when I was lookin' for one, is they only published that book once, then they send out the changes and adendums yearly...You may have to find a used copy. Although I tried that, anyone that has one don't want to get up off it....Good Luck

Ask UKC if they have any laying around anywhere. That is how I got mine.

We printed about 9,000 copies of The Advisor book a few years ago as a promo for COONHOUND BLOODLINES magazine. It sold out quick. Well, we thought they were sold out. If I'm not mistaken, the magazine department at UKC found another box of Advisors while doing some cleaning. So if you contact publications here at UKC, you can probably still get one of the old Advisors.
A revised edition of The Advisor has been completed and will be made available as a special offer at this upcoming Autumn Oaks.

Thanks Todd,
I will be looking to get mine when they come out in the Fall. I don't know if I'm going to make it to Autumn Oaks this year, but I'll keep checking my Coonhound Bloodlines to see if they have them advertised in there. Any idea how much $ they will be?
To get your UKC liscence is a longer process than you think. And rightly so, we don't want just anyone being MOH's. I'm glad they are picky.
1st step- your club has to sposor you and recomend you to UKC as an honest, unbiased person.
2ndstep- you have to take a test on UKC'c official nite hunt rules. (its kinda tricky, they trow questions in that they have just changed this year)
3rd- you pass the test, you have to apprentice under 3 different MOH's at UKC events.
Then if you get through all of this, they will send you a liscence.
You have to be 21, and they prefer you have owned and competed UKC coonhounds for at least 3 years.
Like I said, I'm glad UKC is so picky. It seems like a lot now that I'm going through it, but you are awful glad when you bring a question back, and the MOH knows the rules well, and is unbiased.
