WI Coonhunters Banquet

Who is all going to the banquet in Green Bay this weekend?
I'm thinking about making the trip up there. Weather permitting. I've never been there but it sounds like fun.

Posted by Blackwater Pete on 02-27-2007 08:20 PM:

Weather is supposed to be bad again this weekend. It seems the last few times I have gone the weather was bad.

Posted by on 02-27-2007 08:23 PM:

I'd really like to make it but its a long haul (5-6 hours) and if the roads are bad it will probably be impossible.

Posted by scott shaw on 02-27-2007 08:27 PM:

I'll be there, I don't think the weather is supposed to be to bad
on Sat.. If your going and don't have tickets you need to get them
ordered ahead of time and get them at the door as I don't
think you can buy them at the door.

marc they are calling for 10-18 inches starting thursday thru friday night....

Posted by on 02-27-2007 08:34 PM:

I was told we could get tickets at the door.
If I can't then I'll probably forget about it.
I'm not going to pay for tickets ahead of time and try to drive thru a blizzard to get there.

Do any of you know what the nearest hotels are to the ballroom where the banquet is held?

Posted by coondogs704 on 02-27-2007 09:32 PM:

We'll be there..... the closest hotel is the Amerihost (920)406-8200 We have 3 rooms booked there for us "out of towners". I believe they still have rooms available.

sounds like-

you guys are all squared away. I don't think the roads will be as bad as they said. It mostly rained all night in GB. Cliff & Ceils is at the I43 exit on "J" on the east side of Green Bay.

This is going to be one heck of a turnout this year and some really special awards and items to win or buy. Please make an effort to attend and YES tickets are available at the door.

We will be having a special guest star appearance by Tim Fenske. He will be preaching to the audience about how and why he has single handedly taken the Wisconsin coonhound community by storm and created total domination with his Redbones. You won't want to miss this presentation. It will tug at your heart strings.

If you get lost or need last minute info. feel free to give me a call anytime at (920) 819-8728.

Thanks and see you all on Saturday!

Joe Maitland

Check Page 148, March CB issue for ad info on WCHA events and the banquet.....

banquet-

THe banquet was a huge success once again. We seated approximately 320 people.

Fenske was a flop. A failure. He froze up in front of all the holstein chasers and minced his words into an incoherent mass of anxiety ridden dribble. But I managed to save the day and let everyone know how dominant he really could be, or could have been.

No, Ronny, he does not coonhunt. But he would like to start if he could find someone to take him out and show him the ropes.

THe big absentee winner was out of state sponsor Forever Friends and Sioux River Kennels. They were the winners of the mallard print sponsors raffle and also a Savage automatic .22 rifle. The WCHA member who sold him those tickets must be the most honest and admirable man in the world. He won 2 out of 3 possible chances. Please consider Forever Friends for all your pet cremation and burial needs in the Sioux Falls area. I know I will definately look him up when I need proper sanitary disposal of ditch fill material.

I had a great time this weekend at the banquet.
It was nice to see some familiar faces again and put some faces to folks I've spoken with over the phone or thru email.
It was truly impressive what coonhunters can do when they all decide to work together.
My hats off to WCHA!! It was a great event!
