Shiney Dog box????

Any tips to bring the shine back to my aluminum dogbox ???

I'm wondering too. I'd like to have mine chrome dipped..that would look cool!

Lowes carries a diamond plate paste that's supposed to bring back the shine. I dont have the energy to try it. I'd do it if someone on here found that it worked good. I can just picture putting in a few hours to make it all new looking, then a week later it would be back to looking all old and dull lol.

I HAVE USED THE ALUMINUM POLISHES AND OXIDATION REMOVAL PRODUCTS AND THEY DO WORK. I THINK TO KEEP IT NICE YOU NEED TO WAX IT GOOD OR POLISH AFTER YOU GET IT CLEAN AND ALSO DONT LET IT GET THAT BAD NEXT TIME.

Turtle Wax Chrome Polish would probably work too.

Mothers Aluminum Polish does work good.Took four jars of it to do a small aluminum dog box,and loooooots of elbow grease.

Posted by miner49er on 02-04-2007 07:18 PM:

Use the Mothers polish with the new Mothers powerball, it is a polishing ball that works in a drill, does a great job and cuts way down on time.

I didn't want to pollish mine so I sold it to Don H and got a new one!

Shine

Take it to a place that washes Semi's and Trailers, they have the acid to use on it, costs about $10-$15...well worth it and they do the work !!

Satin Metal Polish is the best for cleaning and polishing a dog box.

You will be happy with this polish, easy to put on and take off.

Eagle one wire wheel cleaner. Amazing. Even gets brake dust off and paint. I used it on my tool box. You can get it at advance.
