Easy boys easy, I still have a blue or two and some pups on the way. Lets just say I like to win and this little dog will do that I think. Had a nice blue female a while back that I was excited about and she got killed by some pit bulls, had a nice male and he died of heat stroke I guess, and had a dog that could do real good but I sold him and he died 6 days later with twisted gut. My little female that I still have will be in the hunts this year. Bo is getting old and I want something to hunt that will compete any where I go. Sorry if it has to be with a walker but atleast he is a good looker with a good mouth and a real tree dog. I will always like my blues but you never know what might filter through. When the weather gets better we will go hunting Tom. I think you will like Buddy.

Mike has handled a few walkers in his day I know. I just need something to replace the old man with. reather it is a walker or a blue doesn't matter to me. If Buddy can fill Bo's tracks he will be worth a bunch of money some day. Not to mention the price was right on Buddy. Wonder what Sanders would say Mike?

You guys need to dig a little deeper. Elmo hasn't always just had blueticks. He use to hunt with John Wick some and he told me he had a pair of plots that were bad to the bone. It's not the color or breed it's the end result that matters.

I was just kidding a little, Chris. Elmo will give credit where it is due, and he does not care on what color the dog is.

He has told me about those plots as well... and said that the one plot dog might have been the best he has ever been to the woods with.

I still say, you would be hard pressed to get him to hunt anything other then a Breathless Blue. LOL

Posted by chris baker on 02-03-2007 04:28 AM:

Hoss isn't a Breatless Blue and he was talking about getting his littermate brother as well. I could care les about color but I do know what I want in a coon dog and when you have had one like my old dog it is hard to settle for less. When you have seen the light it is hard to stand in the dark with something less. I know what it takes to win consistently and that is what I want to see in what ever I am hunting. From what I have seen out of these dogs they have the ability to put you in the winners circle and do it in a hurrry. I don't want to just slide by and win here or there, I want to have as good a chance as any to win every hunt I go to. I want a dog that will give you a chance to win late in the hunt if you are behind. It takes a special dog to almost know what they have to do to win and I have seen it more than once. They do make dogs like I'm wanting and it's been to long since I have hit the hnts hard. This may be the year for me to try it again.

Good luck to you Chris. I was just referring to Elmo's kennel name and not the actual dogs. I will stop my attempts to be humorous on these post. LOL

Scott

Not a problem. You can be humorous all you like. I have hunted with Elmo a bunch in the last seven or eight years. We have walked several miles chasing these old blues and treed lots of coon. Don't get to hunt with him much anymore but do on occasion. Most of the time he wants to go when I can't and when I want to go he is in dance class. Sorry if I semed short or sharp, I didn't mean to. Take care. Chris

No problems here Chris. I have heard of a hunt or two about ol chief and Bo.

Those two dogs wore me and Elmo out more than one night. Did he ever tell you about the snow ball?
