Nite Hunt Question

2 dogs treed. Fight breaks out on the tree, hear everything that happened. Didn't physically see anything. They quit as soon as the lights got to the tree. Can you scratch those dog for fighting?

You don't have to see the fight. You know there was a fight, only 2 dogs on tree, this ones simple. Dogs are scratched.

You must first know where the other 2 dogs are and if they are for sure id somewhere else the dogs that are treed should be scatched!

The other two dogs in the cast are in the opposite direction treed.

Both are scratched since you can not determine the aggressor.

You dont have to see the fight. In a lot of casts though, this one would be let go.

If you know for certain that the other two dogs could not be involved, then both dogs are scratched. This situation has a direct answer written up on page 27 of the Coonhound Advisor. It plainly states that in the situation described above by Mr Moon, both dogs fighting at the tree must be scratched even though the fight was only heard, not seen. The reason is because you can be positive the other two dogs split treed the opposit direction could not possibly have been involved.

Scratch the 2 dogs.

You not only have to be certain the other 2 dogs were not in the area, but you also have to be certain that a stray dog, or some other critter or thing wasn't the source of the ruckus.

You have to be satisfied those 2 dogs were fighting each other and whether you hear it or see it is beside the point.

Good grief. Where does it end? These poor dogs were merely doing there job and treeing a coon. We don't want wimpy dogs polluting the gene pool. Furthermore, the dog's, if they were fighting, stopped when they saw the lights comeing. Well trained dogs. What do we expect?????????? Dogs to simply tree without running each other off the tree and fighting and growling and facebarking??????????? Why scratch two deserving dogs whom are on there way to becoming Grand nite champions???? If we were after peacefull coondogs that's what we'd be breeding for, we want TREE DOGS. TREE DOGS. TREEDOGS. TREEDOGS. TREEDOGS. TREEDOGS.
