What tracking collars and lights are good?

I am in the market for a good tracking system and i was also looking for a good light to go hunting with at night. Any suggestions on what is good and what to stay away from? thanks.

I have had my blazer light for over 8 years and it still works like the day i bought it.

Everyone has different thoughts on trackers but its hard to beat a wildlife.

Wildlife tracking system, and a Blazer 21 volt light....bright, and battery life is long, and doesnt take too long to charge if you run it till its dead.

I hunt Walkers. and a English puppy

Any light with Nickle Metal Hydride batterys are good. I prefer 20 volts at least. Although 12 and up are okay. I would stick to a major brand for warrenty and service reasons. (I use a cajun light) Most all tracking systems are good. I personally don't like innotek but some people love them. (I use a Tracker Maxxima)

I would recommend that you buy the best you can afford, if you plan on using it for a long time. You can also find good used stuff. Check with Valley Creek Supply, they usually have good used lights and trackers. Along with new stuff.

I have tried most brands out there and Moonshiner lights are the only one I will use anymore.

Mr Maggard stands behind his lights, and everyone I know who has one will tell you the same thing. Last brand they will ever use.

The walking LED light is miles above the compitition. Super bright, and runs off the whole battery pack instead of just wired to 1 cell. You could leave the LED on, come back weeks later and it would still be shining.




I use a Wildlife tracking unit now. I had a Tracker Maxima, and it worked well too. I could never get it to pinpoint as accurate as the Wildlife, but alot of people will only use them. Sure are handy right there on your belt.


When I buy a new tracking system, it will probly be a MN-10 from Johnsons Telemetry. Just because there only 50 miles or so away, and man the Johnson collars have the range. It will be nice to just drive down the road to have it seviced if it ever needs it.
