my heart is crushed :(

2 days ago my 13 year old hound got out of his pen and I've spent the last 2 days looking for him all over and I found him this morning on the side of the road dead.He was 13 years out and I even Performance sired him for 2007 because I wanted just one pup out of him.He had been my buddy's plesure hound for years and years and I hunted with this hound when he was 5 or 6 years old and tryed to get him then but my buddy said he wasn't for sale well last fall my buddy said that I can have him cause he's so old and to try and get one pup out of him and that was my plan cause my female is just comeing into heat and now he's gone and so it the old blood he was out of.I'm not asking anyone to feel sorry for me but more so for some help to keep this blood going and I know it's a long shot but if anyone knows where I can find this kind of old blood please let me know

I am SO sorry for your loss!

What a big blow to you. I hope you find the hounds you want to keep his old blood flowing. I read your post after you got this hound and saw your interest in keeping him going through pups and I know how much you looked forward to it.
I can only send you my thoughts and prayers for your loss and for the future. If you indeed find the blood you want I hope we get to see the results in the future.

I know you said you didn't want people to feel sorry for you, but I know I do. We just recently had a pup that was only 14 months old get out. We spent all day looking for him, then the next day he was found dead. He had also been hitten by a car. Sorry for the loss bud.
