Average size coons.

I am just curious as to what each state's/area has for average size coon. Around here our average boar goes 16 to 18 pounds with a 20 pounder not terribly uncommon, while the sows run 14 to 16 pound average. In all my years I have treed 2 that were 23# and some change. I had a buddy tree one that went 26# and it looked enormous.

17-19lbs is a big coon here in western North Carolina, I'd say. 12-15lbs is an average adult coon.

You catch one 20lbs + you have yourself a trophy.
