I was just messing with some 7 month old pups. There were no limbs touching between these two tree, as you can see in the second pic. he is really having to stretch out there to get ahold of a limb. I thought it was kinda neat to watch.

....

ya know that's my problem is treeing and no coon....people want to get mad at their dogs. BUT, the dogs tree where the coon went up, ain't the dogs fault the coon keeps going....

nitechampbud, thanks for the pics...maybe it will open up some people's eyes.....like i say, coonhunting wouldnt be fun if they treed and stayed put...coons are SMART and thats why we hunt them...they WILL leave the tree...

Nice illustration. I have seen them do it with my own eyes. It's great that you have it in pictures.

I don't believe these pictures.... You had to do some fancy work on them to make it look like those limbs aren't touching.... Once a coon climbs the tree he aint crossing over.. I don't care what ya'll say.

At Autumn Oaks the year before last a couple dogs treed
a slicktail, that had to been 40 feet up and we watched
it cross over to the next tree and then it went back over to the
original tree. I wouldn't have believed that if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes!

Great pics. You should start a photography business...hey never know!! I got mad a couple times, but these coon use their weight to bend limbs over into the next tree as well...its like no way!!!

Nice Pictures

Those look like relitively small trees two.
I bet a Many a Hound, has been cought on a small Slick tree, and whiped for it, and the Coon actually did go up it, like you demonstrated.

i made a tree one night that was in a bunch of pine trees and the coon was walking from one tree to other tree. we watched him travel to about 5 different trees. i was also hunting one morning with some young dogs and they were treeing up some pines. by the time i got there we could not find the coon. i always figured it walked from the pine they were treed in thru the tops of several trees over and probably left there.

.....

HOBO, that's a trained coon from someone who spent years just to get pics to put on here LMAO...get real....

coonhunting is a great sport because its HARD...whats the point in having a dog if u get a coon every time? i want my dog to tree where the coon went up...if the coon don't change trees and HE WILL IF POSSIBLE....then u'll get him...the coon don't run up a tree to watch whats going on, he's running for his life....if possible the chase don't stop once he goes up...ya know how ya wait when dogs trees before ya go in? best thing to do is run in as soon as the dogs tree...if u wait then ur giving that coon time to change trees...

i think these pics are the best thing i've ever seen...for once, someone got evidence of ANOTHER SMART COON TRICK!!!

Great Pictures guys.... I have seen a bobcat do that..... Okay it didn't reach out and grab the other limbs but jumped Never seen a coon do it, but when we average maybe 10 coon a year, I can see why I have missed it.......................

The pups look GREAT by the way. Tried to talk my friend into that female, but it was a no-go..

thats something,,i saw a gr.nitech. get the leather taken to him one night on 2 trees that were slick and wouldna maybe got it again or shot on the 3rd tree if we'd been a little slower going to the tree...i saw the coon crossing over when we got about 50yds from the tree,,,lucky dog,,
i think it was the same coon that went up the first 2 trees as the dog circled the 2 slick?trees and too k the track from them to the 3rd tree..

hey ,is dat dem dar bench show puppys treeing dat coon,,
people sure missed out on them,,
looks good and can chase coon too,,lol

I hate to admit it but Hobo is right. We bought that trained coon from a trapeze artist. I figure the last pic. would have givin it away. Surely nobody would believe a walker would be under a tree with a real live coon in it.

LOL.....NOT!!!!!!!
