Walker Lost/stole In North Alabama!!!
my female walker was discovered missing this morning. her chain was stretched out and just dropped. this dog will not go anywhere when turned loose because i turn her loose sometimes to run around while i'm supervising.
the reason i believe she was stole is because i have a few gamechickens tied out and she WILL kill chickens if not watched. all my chickens are fine. she never leaves the yard and she's gone. i have a puppy running loose that would have went with her if she'd just been loose and she was still around.
here's a couple pictures of her...

i'm in Crossville which is in Dekalb county in northeast alabama...
if anyone has seen or knows anything please contact me.....

unless removed, she should have on an orange hunting collar with my number on it. she's friendly so no worries about her biting someone.

Sorry about your hound first of all. Second you may have seen me post before but I'll repeat this. PETFINDER.COM has a great way to check what ends up in the shelters. The shelters are not Great at IDing coonhounds though... so the best way to search is to do a local shelter search putting in the town and state. I will do this, since those are good pix. Also you HAVE to be sure to call the shelters pretty constantly and realise they often have NO clue what breed or even sex dog they have in(not ALL shelters are that bad)... Also they often don't have staff to return calls, search thru the kennels etc... so be vigilant and go TO the shelters to look. Post pix as posters etc...
When a hound is stolen there is the chance that if the thief takes it Elsewhere it will end up in a shelter somewhere else. So the search often has to be nationwide. I will do my best looking thru the PETFINDER pix to see if she ends up at a shelter.
Hope the thief sees this and realizes the BEST thing to do is Safely return the hound.
Best of luck, Heather

Kevin, I think it is a group of people around here. There are just too many disappearing in the same way. We had a male stolen last year and never got him back. This year our female came up missing while hunting. I got her back four months later. She showed up at our local shelter. Someone had been caring for her. Her nails had been trimmed and the vet said she had been fed. Hopefully you will get Roxie back. I'll keep my eyes out for her. Amy

found!!!
I FOUND HER!!!....i called every coonhunter that i knew around and plus the posts on this board so people could watch for her...and the local coonhunter i knew is well known in my area for owning walker dogs...so a woman called him and asked if he was missin a female walker and he said no, but i had called him the night before and told him about her and he called me as soon as he heard and i went to see if it was her...sure enough it was...no collar, and she was about 3 miles from the house...which is a LONG way for her considering she won't leave the yard...
anyway, thanks to everyone for their support....i'm glad to have her back...

YES!
GREAT NEWS! I'm very glad... I am hoping whenever anyone loses one it gets posted here, and we let Everyone know they are being looked for...so they RETURN them somehow...
IF theives know they are being watched it may really help.
Hope you have many more great years with her! Happy Hunting, Heather
