The best trackin system

I am new to this message board, so hello everyone. but I was wondering what you guys would consider to be the best trackin system?

FOR WHAT I HAVE USED IT I LIKE THE TRACKER MAXIMA. YOU ALWAYS HAVE IT RIGHT WITH YOU. I DON'T THINK THE RANGE IS NEAR AS GOOD AS THE OLD STYLE WITH THE BIG YAGI ANT. BUT IT IS ALOT HANDIER TO USE.

I was lookin at the tracker maxima, and the Innoteck RD-400

IS THAT THE INNOTEK THAT SLIDES DOWN IN THE TUBE AND YOU CAN CARRY IT ON YOUR BACK. MY HUNTING BUDDY HAD 1 LAST YEAR AND AS LONG AS YOU KNEW WHERE THE DOGS WERE IT WORKED FINE. THE TRACKER GOES IN A HOLSTER ON YOUR BELT AND IS OUT OF THE WAY. I'VE ONLY HUNTED 3 NIGHTS SINCE I'VE HAD MINE AND JUST PLAY WITH IT TO LEARN HOW IT WORKS. OTHER THAN HAVING TO LEAVE IT AT THE TRUCK YOU CAN'T BEAT THE BOX STYLE RECEIVERS AND A YAGI ANT. THE RANGE ON THOSE IS SO MUCH BETTER.

The boxes with the yagi antena are a lot less expensive too it seems. Thanks

the ten channel Quick Track is hard to beat.It is a very reliable unit and you can get it mounted on the antenna.My hunting partner has one and it is a beautiful unit in it's performance.It has a Long,Medium or Close Range controled with a toggle switch that sure helps with determining the distance of the hounds.Quick Track stands behind their units and are pleasurable to work with.I have the Quick Track 5000,a more expensive unit with the feature of tracking any of the popular frequencies and can store 1000 collars,sure hope I don't ever have enough hounds to fill it up LOL.It too is a very reliable unit and I sure like mine.I have all my hunting partners hounds programed in mine along with my own in case one of the hounds gets lost and they have to work the next day,I can go back and usually find the hound for them.Another partner has the ten channel Johnson,an old unit,that performs the greatest every time out and it is comparable cost wise.If ten collars is enough for your needs I would highly recommend the Quick Track ten channel.

I have the Innotek RD-400 and it works great and has good range on it, but that Quick track is really nice. If the RD-400 had the close, medium and long range on it, it would be perfect. I can always pin point my dogs. I just haven`t leaned to tell just how far they are yet.

I used to have one of the cheaper Quick Track units,it worked good and never had a problem with it but switched to a Tracker unit.The Tracker will give you more range than the cheaper Quick Track systems and is a heck of alot easier to carry.Has anyone used the Quick Track QTR - 5000 unit,it's supposed to track all the common frequencies and have a tracking range further than their other units?

In the hills I have always thought the ATS 16 channel has the best range and accuracy.

Where I hunt we have alot of bluffs and deep hollows and the boxes with the big ant. are better suited for here. I have one of the ATS 16 and I haven't had any problem with it and it has real good range.

I personally hunt with a Innotek RD-400. I like everything about it and it is the most reasonable priced units out there today. You can get a RD-400 and 2 colars for around $600.00.....Not a bad price...As for the Best and longest range it is without a doubt the Wildlife 1000 and 2000 series. There the longest range system around, call wicks and ask them the have tested them all. But the box alone is around $1000 or more, no collars or antenna's, Here in the East Tennessee Mountains when your regular system won't pick your bear dogs up, find someone with a Wildlife 1000 and they can beep him......

has any one used the i-com, i have been looking at them, all my hunting buddies have quik track and i know that they are good.

Innotek RD series

I have one and will put it against any out there,anywhere,have had Wildlife,Quick Track,Etc. they are all good,but for the money and the service,It's Innotek for me,as far as knowing how far they are,I can tell by how much mine is turned up as to the distance,works like a charm,I'm not crazy however about the battery life in a collar,at the best ,on new batteries,you can get 8 days before it is dead,I did however remedy that by buying a few Rats collars,,man they are the berries,works great on the Innotek box and lots of battery life to boot,,,

rats collars

where do you get the rats collars, and can you just buy the reciever and then ant. when you get the innotek, or do you have to buy it with the 2 collars and all?

grain valley

does anyone have any experience with the grain valley trackin collar? I am new to this whole trackin system thing, how do you do the frequencies? like 216, 217, 218, 219, and 220? Say I want to track 2 dogs, do I buy one 216 frequency and one 217 frequency, or how does that work?

I like a garmin but if I didn't have it I would have a wildlife 3 channel. It was the best tracker before the garmin came out

definately a garmin alpha 100

Tracking Systems

Garmin 320 and DC-40 Collars works well for me. If they go on queston you need to move around. Works good for me.Where I hunt you can drive around and get close to your dog.
