Ever Been Shook, like a Vine?

Kind of funny, but last nite, my Son and I went on a short Coonhunt.

The hounds treed, on a Big Oak tree, with several vines coming out of it, well I noticed the hounds would tree, then ocasionally grab a Vine, and tug on it. Seen this alot, didnt think anything of it.

Well we shinned, and shinned, and I gave my Son, the Squaller, and I was gonna go pull one of those vines, to try and get the Coon to look.

I walked up to that tree, to grab a big vine, same vine the hound would ocasionally tug on, well the hounds didnt notice my aproach, then I was standing right there by the vine my hound had been tuggin on, next thing ya know, he reached up to tug on that vine, and instead of the Vine, he grabbed my arm, and gave me a good tug instead. You should have seen the expression on that hounds face when I shinned the light in his eyes, he let go, and almost looked like he wanted to say "Sorry Boss"
That hound wasnt trying to hurt me, just reachin for a Vine and grabbed me.
It was kind of funny to me, just wanted to share that.

well..........

when people say watch my dog around the tree i always stay directly behind the dog standing beside it gives it something else to grab other than twigs and vines.....and if ya got to take it off the tree then right behind the neck really fast will usually get it done lol hollering come here boy usually excites em into the bug eyed frenzy thats scaring the pee out of ya lol..............

Richard

My wife still laughs at this one although it was not very funny to me at the time!

I was hunting my good English female Reba and a young pup that was just starting and showing interest in the tree. We treed in a tree like you described, it had several big grape vines hanging down. Ole Reba would grab onto the vines like your dog so I tied her back a few feet to one of those big vines and proceeded to work the pup up a little. Well I didn't realize the big vien I tied her to could flex so much and while I bent over to pet up the pup ole Reba lunged forward to grab a vine in the dark and grabbed me right on my arse!!!!!! OWWWWWWW! Ripped my jeans and left a good bruise man that smarted! Walked around the rest of the nite with a cold hinney it was cool!

My wife teased me about being an expert dog handler and said she could picture me hunting in the woods with my butt exposed, called me a great white hunter!!LOL! Ha d to tell all her friends too man I had to live that down!! LOL!!!!!!

Frank is a 95 big blue dog , i weight arond 160 , one night we lead four dogs up to a creeeled over fence and was going to send them up and over to start off the drop , i took my lead off frank and stuck my fingers under his collar to hold him about that time one of the guys says up , up to get his dog over the fence , well frank wasnt going to be left behind so up and away he went , he draged me up and over the fence and when we came to a stop i was laying on the other side and my feet wasnt even touching the fence , needless to say the other three guys were busting a gut
