i see ol newt on the news the other day say if the gas prices keep going down and the stock market keeps going up the republicans should hold the house !


but i have a question HOW COME EVERYTIME SOMEONE SAY'S THE PRESIDENT SHOULD WORK ON THE GAS PRICE'S ALL YOU REPUBLICANS SAY HE DON'T HAVE ANY CONTROL OF IT ????

Explain to me how the president has control over the price of gas. All i hear is that he needs to do something about it. What do you suggest? Lower gas taxes? We all know the democrats hate any kind of tax cuts. Invade Saudi Arabia? Didnt he get blamed for going to Iraq for oil? Drill in Alaska? Tree hugging liberals would die first. Force the domestic oil companies to lower prices? First, that is not in his power and second , thats not how capitalism works, and third, that would put people out of work which we all know the democrats are for the "common people" lol and if you believe that i have a bridge for sale. So please tell me what the President can do to lower the price of gas.

This may be the economist coming out in me, but there was a great article in Time mag about 6 months or so, ago. It was a fairly long piece on fuel prices and just about everything that has happened with the price of various fuels has happened and is happening. It is called supplya and demanda.

now i still belive that we the UNITED STATE'S people should not have to ask for donations to find a cure for cancer or be with out insurance to cover medical bills , i feel if we the U.S can give billons to a country that does nothing for U.S the U.S should take care of U.S first !!! no i am not saying to make my house payment or buy me a new truck so i can hunt in style i am saying to help familys that can't afford to do so.

i actually wish we had Clinton back if office and we wouldn't have to worry about who's in charge...everyone knew Clinton kept gas prices down...he even pumps it for ya, cause last i heard Monica said "Fill'er up!!!"

Fisrt,

The president nor any other elected offical has any power to change gas prices unless both the federal and the state governments decided to lower the taxes on gas. The president does not have that power. However, what Newt was addressing was that people who do not have a good understanding or just what the president can or can not do relate gas prices with him because political pundents and news agencies make it look like he does. So those individuals will see it as a good thing for the Pres. and the Repulicans. (In other words the dummy-crates own propaganda could bite them in the but in plain and simple English)

As far as Socialized Medicaine goes, go to Canada and see how well it works for them. It takes about 6 moths to get an appointment just to see a family doctor there. The Wealthy in Canada choose to either come to the United States for medical help or belonge to private hospitals run for profit in Canada.

Also, have you ever wondered why there are so many foriegn doctors int he United States? It is because the can come here and practice and make as much money as the dare too! (That is call a Free Market which this country was founded upon and is the reason we have made more medical advances in our 200 year history than the rest of the world could in all of history).

Now our forefathers had this funny idea that you was respondsible for your own actions. So if you choose not to get a good edcucation, not to save your money or plan ahead, well the consequenses of those actions are yours. Not your fellow Americans to bail you out because you chose not to do anything for yourself. (Oh and by the way a person who legally imigrates to America has a 4 times better chance to become a millionaire than you do not because of government handouts because they see OPURTUNITY TO SUCCEED and are willing to work for it),

No American is without health insurance either, becasue people refuse to take responsibility for thier own self inflicted wounds, there is medicare and medicade. Also no hospital is allowed to refuse any person due to their lack or insurance or ability to pay. (Which is a double edged sword which drives up the hospital cost and thus your insurance bill cause the hospital is then forces to charge the honest person more).

If you take away a persons incentive to do well and stiffle their drive it hurts the whole country. Just look at all the countries that have socialized medicine and similair programs. None of their ecomomies are doing half of what ours are and none of them are producing new medicines or medical proceedures the way we are. However if you don't mide living in a country with 1% economic growth, 45% taxes I am sure France, Germany and several other counties with your views would love to have you.

PS even with 911, and two wars and high gas prices (still lower than your socialist friends pay) our economy is setting all times highs for growth. The only thing at record lows is unemployment.

I believe the figures were that there was 11% more fuel usage this summer than there were the summer before.

not everyone can be a millionaire (it's not that i don't want to be) maybe you are i don't know but i see things that are just wrong ! elderly folks living on a fixed income eating cat food so they don't freeze to death come winter , these are the people that worked to make the rich even richer and made this country what it is now but the country has forgot about them and i feel bad for them as i will be next in line for what they are going through now.

sorry for feeling for the poor i know it looks bad i guess i should turn my head when i see a child picking threw the thrash cans looking for something to eat then maybe i wouldn't type all this junk on here for you to read !

No not everyone is a millionare, however, everyone does have the CHANCE to become one here. Not sure where you live but I have lived all over this GREAT COUNTRY and I have never known of no old people eating cat food. (IF they are since this is the best economy we have had in over 49 years what was they eating under Jimmy Carter when we had "STAG" flation? That is high interst rates @ 17% and double digit unemployment? Unemployment is lower now than it was under Pres. Clinton?

I am sure in MO the average income is less than where you are and yet I see no kids eating out of trash cans. That is just Dummy-crate retoric. Like when Al Gore had the retired auto worker lady who traveled from the midwest to New York to tell him how poor she was. How in the heck did she afford to get there? I know auto workers are well paid so what did she do with all her money?

Are we to help the poor? Yes we are! But the organizations best suited to do that are churches and charities. Oh but I forgot the Democrates hate church and God. Perhaps if they was more intuned with God and his will there would be less poverty....

Let me know who is eating cat food and I will send them some money myself and if they are and you have done nothing to help them you have issues and where are their kids?? Church members?? ect. Same goes for kids eating out of garbage cans. PLEASE HELP THEM DON"T GET ONE HERE AND SAY IT IS THE GOVERNMENTS FAULT!!!!!!!!!!! The public schools have free breakfast and lunch programs just for such kids. Take them there, they should be in schoo and help them learn and get something to eat. This is a republic there for you are the government. Take a lesson from the bible be a good Sameritain!!!

PS My borhter in law is a Nazarene Minister in Lanscing MI He and his church would be very happy to help these old people and starving kids. Just produce them. Also there are laws that forbid the power companies from shuting off poor peoples heat in the winter so tell them not to worry...

yes i give to my church every sunday so they can help people as i do to help people that need it but you my want to seek some help from your minister on how to deal with your out look on how the world should be run , then maybe when you go in front of GOD he will take mercy on you !

I agree on the used car salesman part. But if you think about it what good would it do for the Pres to intentianlly raise gas prices? That is not what anyone would want.

Also I again I ask you where are these kids you see eating out of gargage cans or old people who are eating cat food? send me a PM with their names and I will send them some money.

The bible also teaches us that we are responsible for are own actions. So if you are not wise with your money it is your fault. Just like our own decisions (To execpt or reject Christ) is what God will judge us on at the end of time. There will be no government bail outs no heaven subsity plans. Its either up or down based solely on your own decisions.

very good posts you made. the peoplr of the united statrs have to get off there dead azzes and provide for themselves and there families. and learn to accept responsibility doe there own actions when i was young i worked constrution but found due to living in the north east i made good money but winters were long and lran so i took other employment with good medical benifits that are still good after retirement also included is medical for my wife till she dies i didn't get rich but certainly provided for my family giving them what was needed plus things that were wanted but not needed

we must be responsible for our actions money , the good for our familys and how we feel about our self now the kids eating out of the thrash well it was a point to work with ? probly not a good one ! but my mother may she rest in peace worked hard all her life then when she was hit by a drunk driver as she was walking across the street she had to learn to live on a fixed income she then had to file bank ruptcy due to the high cost of medical bills the medicade would not cover , now this was hard for me to wacth but with me raising a family of my own i could do very little to help other than buying some food for her fridge and taking her to the doctors office
this is what i would like to stop from happing to the people that made this country . like i said i don't want this country or any other country to pay my way as of right now i can and do work to feed my family but if the time come where i need the help i would want it to be there heck i pay into the tax scam just like everone but i don't think it is being used the best way it could be .

Well basically it's the liberal media's own spin machine coming back to bite them.

They railed and railed about how the President was to blame about the high gas prices, the whole time he and everybody else that knows anything about economics told them no it's supply and demand.

It didn't matter, the millions of sheeple in the US believed the "news" and his popularity plummetted.

Now that the gas prices are falling those same sheeple have a more positive opinion of him.

Yes it will help him if the gas prices fall. It shouldn't because he has no control over them, but the sheeple have already took the bait when the liberal news media was making it out to be his fault.

They will now start to give us reasons why the fall was NOT due to his leadership (which will be the truth but the only reason they will tell the truth in this instance is to try and stop some of the increasing popularity due to their origional lie).
