I knew that they had been sited but never heard of any dogs getting after them. you would think a coon hound would love to run one of those big boys. I have had pups tree bobcats several times.

Big Cats

I had some cousins up from sothern MO. They saw one in the area of 7 hwy, and county line rd. Cass County, MO. Everything else I've heard was hear say. I did however see the Conservation Dept. out about two months ago with the tracking truck out. It had the antenna spinning and drivin slow. My dad saw the same thing a couple days later... Kinda interesting.

Several sited in our area around Sedalia, MO
My husband and several cars pulled off 65 hwy 5 miles outside of Sedalia, MO and watch 3 big lions trot single file across a field headed to the timber. Our neighbors saw a mama and 2 cubs at the end of their driveway, and another neighbor nearly hit one going home. We have some steep cliff and heavy timber within 3 - 5 miles from us and I would say they live in this cover. One of the nurses who lived in Florence, MO and worked at the doctors office where my son used to get allergy shots had pictures of a mountain lion that kept getting in her chicken pen and would sleep with the chickens. They called conservation first time and were told to clap hands and chase them off. When he returned 3 days in a row they were told they could shoot him. My son asked conservation agent about the lions 2 years ago and was told Missouri traded some other state Turkeys in exchange for these Cats and 3 per county were turned loose. They won't say it in the public paper or radio though.
Also heard about a farmer shooting one because it was killing calves. The next day the DNR was at his door with a search warrent. They went right to where the cat was killed in his pasture. It was micro-chipped..... Haven't treed any yet, bobcat once in a while but we also stay away from the area with cliffs.
