New Ukc Rule??

Has anyone heard of where if the judge thinks ur dog is treed and you dont think the dog is treeing right you have 5 minutes to tree it or the judge will tree your dog !?!?

It is called a stationary rule and it is not new, it has been there.

I had a guy in my cast last night that didn't understand (or know about) that rule. I guess he thought I was trying to cheat him or something, but like Lovis said, its been there for a long time.

The judge cannot tree any dog but his own dog. No judge can tree another handlers dog. The judge cannot make you or ask you to tree your dog. A dog under the stationary time IS NOT treed. If the handler chooses to, he/she can tree their dog anytime while the stationary is running. Once the time expires the dog cannot be treed.

Thanks Jim for giving a better understanding to that rule. I didn't think to explain in that way. Thanks again.

Jim,
You left off the part about the dog being scratched if it is not called treed before the stationary expires, and found to be treeing.

Rule 6*q. If handler fails to declare treed a dog obviously treeing (Judge’s decision) for a period of five minutes. Dog may be declared treed while five is running but not after the five has expired. Judge must verify dog to be at a tree before it can be scratched.
