has anyone hunted with any of the big time walker reproducers ,past ,or present????????? and what were the the things you liked.

I hunted with Hardwood Patch, Hardwood Swamp, Nocturnal Skipper, Hayes Junior, Hardwood Bo, and Wld Ch Hawk that Mr Roy had at the time, those I remember of the top off my head. Hunted with Dogs directly out of Finley River Chief, Lipper, Sylish Lipper and several others. All of them had there own things about them it would take to long to describe each of them. If you ask about a certain one it would be easier. What did you like, and dislike, about your Lipper crosses on the Tar Rattler gyps that You had?

Tar Rattler, Hardwood Dan, Hardwood Buster II, Merchant's Bounty , World Ch. Clipper, Log Chain Leroy. They all had some strong points to me, some had some weak spots as well. Leroy, Rattler, and Bounty were all very LOUD. They would all knock a hole in the Dark on the nights I saw them.

actually chiggers it was the other way around we had lipper females bred to tar rattler. all three females were sissters. they were lipper /ceder hill sass.
....they were all good crosses, the best ive been around actually. they were the hard nosed kind. take any kind of track.explosive tree dogs. most of them though would tap. they had the coon when they treed, and would stay but , you couldn't tree them on one bark. some went to big game hunters and they loved them. they had big mouths but , there wer a few that had chop running mouths. they .all in all were nice dogs

I would have liked to hunted with Buster 11. He always caught my attention. He was Comas sire wasnt he. Coma was about 2 miles from me when he died.

I really dont mind a dog tapping a little. I have a 12 year old Nailor and Anna dog that has been a real dog. When he was young he would tap, but as he got older he hardly ever did. He would Tap with his BIG LOCATE, Sometimes all three other cast members would tree him, I would say" get the pencil ready cause he wont stay treed. Then he would bust in there anouther 100 yards and come treed right. I would tree him and they would get minused. hehehe

Chiggers, tell me about Hayes Jr.

A buddy of mine who is a well known Bluetick breeder told me that if he were going to hunt Walker dogs, he would be hunting Hayes Jr. bred dogs.

Coming from him, that was pretty big praise.

Last winter you said something about me coming up your way for a hunt. I couldn't make it then, but if the door is still open, I would like to try it this fall.

I never went to the woods with Nailer, but I heard him treed behind the house one night. Jess came to the house looking for a way to drive closer to him. HUGE mouth, and a good tree dog. BusterII drew out of Girard KS one night, but I judged another cast. He made an impression on his cast members. Jess's Poacher dog was pretty nice, drew him with Pride in an AKC hunt. I drew one of Greg Minklers dogs one night I liked, but I cant remember which one it was. I think it was Storm.

As for pups by them, I liked Lippers pups the best. Drew a bunch of them years ago. I drew some of Nailer, and Skippers I realy liked. I am starting to see alot of Trackman pups around here, I like the ones I have saw so far. Chelsea drew one last night that impressed the heck out of her.

No, Flatrock Coma was a 1/2 brother to Buster II. He wasn't too far from me in GA. I hunted with him a few times.

I drew Hayes jr in the superstakes. He treed a coon in the last 5 minutes of the cast that I didnt get any part of,and beat me. He seemed like the type of dog that sneaks around and trees coons. He did not have a great Mouth that night but Guess said he was hoarse. He was independent, accurate and a pressure treedog. Kenny Waters hunted his littermate sister in pkc and told me the was a very fine hound. He scored a1000 with her one time with the closest dog haveing about 400. He is an Honest guy .

top dogs

I hunted with Flatrock Coma before i bred my female to him. Chuck would not have it any other way.Very nice hound and really nice on the wood tree dog. Two class acts both Coma and Chuck.

Hard Tack pros-easy to catch allways got wooded and what a tree dog. cons- hard on the neck and the lights looking for that goast coon

I don’t know about big time reproducers. I guess some of them fall in that category, but most of these dogs were advertised pretty regular.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Ball’s Gobble Wobble - Fair mouth treed real hard.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Finley River Bart - Just not my kind of dog.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Collins Jack – Real hard barking tree dog fair mouth.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Deanwood Drifter – Not very loud but a nice dog overall.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Hardwood Bounce - Huge mouth on track, hard hunter.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Merchants Ace – Hard hunter real hard tree dog.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Merchants Boss – Big loud mouth, hunted pretty good, didn’t like his tree style.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Merchants Tree Blaster – Didn’t care for his track mouth but he was a loud hard tree dog.

Gr. Nt. Ch. PKC world Ch. Piney Creek Bogger – This was a coondog just didn’t have a big booming mouth. Hunted hard treed good had the meat and was not ill at all.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Rock River Ring JR - He was old when I seen him go but boy would he go. Real hard hunter and a nice dog. Didn’t get to hunt with him too much only a turnout or two but he looked pretty good.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Rock River Sackett – (Old Sackett) This was a tough hound. Big loud mouth, stay-put tree dog that would have the coon and not a mean hair on him.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Southern Sound Cyanide – Not a real good mouth, hunted ok, just not my type of dog.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Southern Sound Jake - Hard hunter, could run a track had a big mouth and was a stay-put tree dog. This was a real nice hound

Gr. Nt. Ch. Rock River Tuck – Tuck was a nice hound. Good mouth run a track good and would stay treed.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Yadkin River Cobra – I started Cobra, he was an accurate pressure tree dog at 7 months old. He could make a track move and tree the coon at a very young age.

Gr. Nt. Ch. Yadkin Tar Rattler - I’ve hunted with Rattler a few times both when he was young and old. When he was young he was a very powerful LOUD mouth tree dog that would have the coon and stay there. He didn’t have a mean hair on his body and was a really nice hound.

Nt. Ch. Yadkin River Crowder – Crowder was Mr. Treeeeeeee Dog. Could run a track and was a very fast locator. Very few people have heard a louder harder tree dog. Not too many hounds are born with his level of desire to stay treed. When Crowder located on a tree it was show time.

Yadkin River Champ – This is the dog by which all dogs I hunt with are measured. This was a COONDOG and a coonhunters dream. I have yet to see any dog that could drive a track the way Champ did. He was a hard fast hunter that knew how to make a coon climb. He was a wide-open track dog with a real good nose and was blazing fast. A really fast locator and a hard LOUD stay-put tree dog. He had a great attitude and was not mean in any way at anytime.

There were many more but I thought the readers might remember some of these.

Tar Heel Henry...was an impressive coon treeing machine was almost like a robot he was born with natural instincts hunted with him several times. Henrys lasting mark in my book was he threw the best coondog ive ever been in the woods with. I would have put the son of Henryup against anything in the world in his prime ol Mac was just flat out a Coondog.

i have hunted with several in comp. hunts some blew my mind away others were so so and yet some were just plain unimpressive but i also remember that every dog has good and bad nights

.....hey that was my dog at one time. my neck has been bad ever since. that dog made me throw away my old hot light, it wouldn't last all night shinning his trees, but that sucker was a treedog buddy.
