Hey everybody, go to Lowes or anywhere that they sell pesticides(i buy it at Lowes) it's in the garden section and it's in a blue quart plastic bottle labeled Bayer.....just like the aspirin company.....advanced 12month tree and shrub insect control concentrate.....turn the bottle to the back side and it should say active ingredient....Imidacloprid 1.47%.. this is the exact same chemical as admire but it is more dilute so we have to put more on the dog. I have been using it for over a year now on my ten hounds and several friends dogs plus a billy goat. This is also the same chemical the vet sales trade name advantage...but it is more dilute than it but way much cheaper. A quart of this here in Alabama cost eighteen bucks and on average you can treat around sixty dogs with the quart. I put fifteen mililitres....15ml on all dogs from 40 to 65 lbs.... 20 ml on 65 to 90 lbs and 25 ml on a dog over 90 lbs. Put it on every dog that you own inside and outside every month. You won't have to spray anything because each dog will become a flea killing machine....Within 24 hours after treating the dog any flea that bites the dog for a month or more will die within a few minutes.....as more eggs hatch and fleas are born they will bite the dog and be dead quick. I have seen massive infestations irradicated by one dog being treated and every flea in their house and outside was dead in four days.
Buy this stuff and a 30 ml syringe.... if the dog will lay down squirt it on their bellies and rub it in all over the bellie and chest. I f the dog won't lay down just start at the base of the tail and applie a strip from there up to their neck and rub it in. The idea is to get as much on their skin as possible because it is absorbed into their bloodstream and within 24 hours it is circulating throughout their body for at least a month. There will be a dry streak down their back when it drys and the next day if you don't like seeing that then take a spray bottle of water and dampen the streak and rub it in....then even more of the chemical will now get in their bloodstream but it really won't matter cause the fleas are in trouble either way. Try not to bathe the dogs a few days before and a few days after putting this on them.
This stuff has shown amazing results here for i have never been flea free this long........over a year..... I have fought fleas all my life untill i found this stuff....i mean i dont have a one here.....good luck and i hope it works as good for y'all as it has for me.....FullCry

Sounds like it works good anyway.We have fought fleas with my wifes rat terrier and have been losing the battle with all the other stuff we've tried. May go to Lowes and try this stuff.
You've not had any ill effects on your dogs I take it. Wonder how much a little rat terrier would take.

I have been putting 7.5 ml on beagles at 20-25lbs and we have a half rat terrier half welsh corgi.....about ten lbs and i put 3ml on her and she showed no side effects. I haven't seen any side effects on any of the dogs i have treated. Here again is the breeds i have put this on.. four Walker foxhounds, four beagles, one brittany, and they have been getting it for over a year. I have put it on a wolf/ canine cross, a jack russell terrier and i have put it on them like four or five times. The jack russel now has pups....she and the pups were eaten up with fleas...my buddy put it on her and let it dry before he put her back with the pups....fleas gone the next day....the pups and her are fine but i can't say this is ok....my buddy did this. I even put it on a dang billy goat...he had them so bad while we were holding him and putting it on him fleas were covering our legs.....the next day they were gone. I have friends that have Walker foxhound kennells......they have treated 25 hounds for two months all have been ok.... I don't know about cats.... check and see if the vets sale advantage for cats....if so then it's the same chemical but i would do a search on advantage on yahoo or google and read about side effects if any. if not try 1.5 ml on a cat and see if it kills the fleas...this is a minute amount because it takes 15ml of this stuff to equal 1ml of advantage somewhere around that anyway. I sure am glad i tried this stuff over a year ago because i have hunted with guys that dogs had fleas pretty bad and they still haven't made it to my place. Good luck all....FullCry

Wow really it useless. cause I put it on my dogs and my cat sand in the boxes and you cant find a flea.

I mentioned it because it works for me and I thought it might help someone else.

FullCry--does it have any ill effect on the animal or anything. I might try it but I wanna make sure. Is it ok for the kids to still wrestle around with the dogs or should they not get this on themselves??

Well, after skimming through the link that Buckshot posted, it sounds like it would be safe for dogs as long as you didn't add it to their food. Of course I might have missed something, did anyone else read it that way. Also, what about ticks will this get them too?

I have done some research on it and it seems like its safe. I also found on the website that it will not do the trick on ticks. Put it on one dog last night so we will see? Hope it works!

I wish you could see Woodrow right now, He is Sleek looking in his Summer Coat, just Shines like a New Penny, and is slimmed down to a Perfect weight. I love the way his coat shines this time of year, when he has shed off all the winter hair.
The Tan, Looks like a Pretty Redbone Red, and the Black is so shiny and dark it almost has a Bluish Hue to it.

When i first found this brand of this chemical i did as much research as i could on it. I also reserched admire, advantage, and this stuff and they are all the same chemical but under different names and concentrations. So far it has been very safe at my house and my friends that i helped out. It won't kill ticks....and i use sevin dust to for it will kill ticks. All i can do is share my experience with this stuff for i'm not a chemist or a vet but i can read and figure dosages somewhat. I can say this stuff kills fleas and knocks out flea infestations better, quicker, and easier than any chemical i have ever seen and you don't have to spray any dang thang....just put it on every dog you have and the goats to. Folks i haven't had one flea in my yard in over a year and my hounds get hunted with others all the time. My son bought two pups about a week and a half ago....they were covered with fleas when we got them.....i put the stuff on them and the next day they were gone and i haven't seen anymore on any of the other eight dogs and none have jumped on me here at my house. When i apply it i do it bare handed ....smear it around.... but i wash my hands when i'm through. Some of my goofy hounds want to lick the stuff off themselves and i try to stop them but some lick a good bit of it.....none have even gotten sick here....it probably helps get the stuff in their bloodstream but they don't show any signs whatsoever of looking sick or hurt.....heck my dogs are alot better off since i use it.....they never have to scratch a dang flea and have tape worms.

I will put this on my dogs untill they take it off the market or the vets loose our buisness and have it become a controlled substance. I am sold on it but i don't blame you folks for being concerned.....the folks that are using admire are putting way more on their dogs than i am with this sfuff. I put more in volume,,,,but the concentration of admire is much stronger that they are using i believe. I figured the dosage i use by the amount and concentration of advantage.
The vets sale advantage, and it is 9.1% imidacloprid....and they have us put one ml on a dog 11-20lbs....... 2.5ml on dogs 21-55 lbs, and over 55lbs....4ml.... ok, now this stuff is 1.47% imidacloprid....which rounds up to 1.5%
So, now check my math......9/1.5=6 6x1=6, 6x2.5=15.0 and 6x4= 24...........this is the amounts i put on my dogs..........>>>>>>>6ml on dogs 11-20lbs,,,,,,15.0 ml on dogs 40to 60lbs....which could be 21 to 55lbs but i cut it back to 10 ml on dogs of 25lbs...beagles and it has been working....and dogs over 70lbs i use 24ml. >>>>>>>>15ml has been working on 70 lb dogs with me. If anyone can see where i have figured this wrong please let me know....

Went to Lowes and got me a bottle of it.I'll report how it goes with my dogs.Also saw this stuff at Walmart.About the same price both places.

I am merely an experimentor with this chemical and can't be held responsible for any harm that comes to man or beast unless the stuff was applied to the animal by me..........I have only related to all how it has worked for me and that I haven't had any problems with it.............for all i know in the future it may make me sterile due to my not wearing gloves when applieng this lol caustic agent. Hell, but if i were to have a flea infestation like i have had in the past before i found this STUFF..... I would put the Stuff on myself. FullCry

Put it on our little rat terrier last night and you could almost instantly see that the fleas was not liking it at all! The dogs still alive this morning anyway.....lol....and it looks to be cutting into the fleas on him.
